This was probably the best bread I have ever made in my machine. I love the seeds but my husband doesn't care for them so sometimes I leave them out for a more basic loaf.

Excellent bread, thank you! I used my bread machine, but only to make the dough. I had to add a 1/2 c of flour, but it's been raining here lately and I doubled the recipe, so that would explain the difference. I made one loaf in my rectangular loaf pan and made an Italian style loaf with the other, let rise about 45 min, then baked at 375 for 30 minutes like another reviewer (LDSGIRL). I took this bread to work to share with coworkers and they loved it. I, too, really enjoy it! :o)

So stinkin' good! The taste is superb! I mixed this in my Kitchen Aid and let rise twice before baking at 350 for about 40 minutes. I did grind the flax seed before adding. Best bread ever! Thank you for posting this recipe!

Absolutely a 5 star! Delish, baked up perfectly for a tall, moist, crunchy loaf. Yum!! Love the flax & sunflower seeds.

This is an excellent bread. I have made it several times and will continue to do so. Flaxseeds and sunflower seeds are a wonderful combination. The texture is great as well as the fantastic flavor. I might try to grind the flaxseeds in the future, because I have heard that they are more benificial that way. Yummy bread!!!!

This recipe is awesome! I followed the ingredients to a "T" and prepared the dough in the bread machine. Here's my modification: After rising, roll out the dough lengthwise and cut into small portions for sandwich rolls. Shape each portion into a round "roll" shape and place rolls on a greased baking pan, cover with a towel and allow to rise for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 - 17 minutes, until lightly browned. Yum! Enjoy.

I have made this bread many times. It is my favourite machine bread recipe. It is great freshly baked and lightly buttered, for sandwiches, with dip, and toasted. I use machine settings Basic, Medium Crust, and 1.5 lbs. I use margarine instead of butter, ground flaxseed, and all whole wheat bread flour. EDIT: This is also great baked the traditional way, w/o a bread machine. I followed LDSGIRL's measurements.

FANTASTIC! I had my family members and neighbors do a taste test of this homemade bread vs. a very similar loaf baked at the local bakery and this recipe won 100%, hands down!!

This recipe makes a flavorful, toothsome loaf. I didn't have flax and added cracked wheat instead. Lovely! I also added a little more salt.

This was a very good bread! I spread some cream cheese on it right out of the oven and it was amazing! The only thing i did differently was use olive oil instead of butter and all whole wheat flour. I used the bread machine to mix the dough and then i baked it in the oven on a greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 25 minutes! MMMM!!! yummy, healthy, and filling! i will definately make again and again!

Always rises to a beautiful loaf! I've made it with and without the sunflower seeds, and it turns out well either way. I usually mix in the bread machine and bake in the oven.

This was so very easy. It was not a lighty and fluffy type of bread. Right out of the bread maker it was dry like day-old bread. It did not crumble when cut and browned nicely. The taste was not overly sweet, but pleasantly sweet. I will probably try to tweek the baking time to see if I can adjust the dry texture because the flavor was good enough to warrant trying again!

Great flavor. Too soft and moist in my opinion, and my loaf rose too high then dipped on top. After cutting the water a bit and changing 2 cups whole wheat and 1 cup bread flower, it came out the way I like it.

Hands down, the BEST bread I have made thus far. I have been on the search for a seedy, hearty bread, and here it is. I loved it so much that after my first batch came out of the breadmachine, I started another. I will keep making this bread. The only issue I have is the shape of the bread when it is done..I will have to play around with making it look traditional or at least easier to cut. Otherwise, this bread is a keeper and will certainly be a regular in this house!

This is deliciuos bread--my whole family loves it. It toasts up crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I have added some other ingredients...whole rolled oat and wheat germ (1/2 cup each and I subtract the same amount in the flours). Yummy!!
