Great chili. Also a great base to play around with. Was fairly acidic so next time I will try to bring that down. The key to a phenomenal chili is to not get heart burn after. Personal experience though. Recipe is great.

I think there is too much cumin in this recipe. Mine smells and tastes like taco meat, and it is very thick. I followed the recipe exactly (I am the kind of person who can't change the recipe or it flops), and I'm not that impressed.

This is awesome! I cooked the meat first and then cooked in the crock pot for 6 hours. I added V8 and diced tomatoes and kidney/black beans at the end.

After many attempts at making homemade chili- this is by far the best. I decrease the amount of tomato juice to only 16 ounces, use one can tomato sauce and two cans of diced tomatoes, other than that, follow the recipe exactly- I leave it in the slow cooker all day making all the tastes run together very nicely. Served with cheese and sour cream in bread bowls- mmmm mmmm good!

This was a very good chili recipe, but I think next time I would add some canned tomatoes and not so much tomato juice (I may not add any at all). As it has been said though, this is an excellent base to expand on as you wish

This has been my go-to chili recipe since I found it last year. I wish I could cook like my dad and start pulling stuff out of the pantry and fridge and whip up a meal, but I need a recipe in front of me at all times. The first few times I made this, I followed it as is and it turned out wonderfully. You don't need to change a thing. Yesterday however, I had a ton of spaghetti sauce I needed to use, which had ground beef, green pepper, mushroom, stewed tomatoes, onion, spinach and garlic in it. It had to go, so that's what I used for the tomato sauce. I also used only 1 lb ground beef (which was in the spaghetti sauce) and 1 lb of sausage. It turned out great, and I'm enjoying it again today!

I may be a chili novice, as I had never cooked it before, but this was a HIT! I served for a football gathering/party to a bunch of chili-loving men and they said it was the best they've ever had! This recipe is super easy and low maintenance. A+

This was a good basic chili recipe, but we found it a bit boring. We ended up adding more seasonings, garlic, and salt. Maybe it had too much tomato flavor for my family. We tend to like ours chunky and spicy. Good recipe overall, but only with our own personal additions.

Good stuff. I halved a couple of the spices, but I think it can definitely take the full amount of spices, and not be overpowering.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed this Chili but we found it needed a bit more salt. I think it's because I used the "blue menu" Tomato juice and it contained less sodium. Still yummy.
