Best chili I found online, only thing I changed was I added garlic. Not soupy, not too thick, great in a bowl or on a hot dog.

I made this last night for my husband and parents. Great Chili!! My mom asked for the recipe. My changes (minor) was I did 1 lb ground turkey and 1lb ground hamburger, added only 1 can of chili beans instead of 2. I also chose to use Prego Chunky Vegetable pasta sauce. I'll make it the same way again in a few weeks for a baby shower. Thanks!!

Hubby loved it, I don't like it so soupy. 3 stars, just because it's so soupy. It did have a good taste to it. :)

I followed the recipe to the dot.It was pretty good, although I like mine with corn and more beans. And also a little less runny, hubby added starch at the end to thicken it up.

I loved this! I made a few alterations - I did not use the can of tomato juice, instead I used a 14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes. I also only used 2 tbsp + 1 tsp of chili powder b/c my husband doesn't like it to be too spicy. I sauteed the veggies in EVOO before I added the rest of the ingredients. The flavor of this was great! I will definitely make this again!

I cooked this last week and it was a huge hit. I scaled it down and still froze some of it for a later date. However I did make changes. I sauted my onions and garlic in EVOO then threw in crockpot. I then browned my hamburger meat, drained, and put in crockpot. I used a vegetable juice instead of tomato juice and I chopped up about 4 Roma tomatoes and 1/4 of a jalapeno and sauted in EVOO. I cooked up some dried pinto beans to use instead of can beans. I did not make any chages to the seasonings. I put everything in the crockpot and cooked on high for about 3 hrs then turned to low for about 2 hrs. The leftovers were even better!! This is my new chili recipe.

An excellent chili recipe. The only change I made was to double the spices (I like it hot!). Other than that it is a perfect recipe

I grew up in Texas and this chili deserves to win a cook-off blue ribbon. THe flavors are well-balanced and satisfying. I've made it several times with only one change -- I used crushed tomatoes instead of tomato juice because I never manage to remember to buy tomato juice. (It makes the sauce thick and savory anyway!) I've also made it with extra garlic, an added can of diced mild chilis and even a palmful of grated sharp cheddar. Yum. This is a great staple chili recipe that doesn't disappoint.

This is the best chili I've ever made. Great recipe! I added 1/4 cup corn meal to thicken and used canned diced tomatoes instead of juice. I also just put all the ingredients except for the meat (I used ground turkey) into the croc pot before going to bed. I added the ground turkey in the morning and now I have lunch and dinner ready! I topped it with homemade Guacamole and crumbled cornbread. Delicious!

This is a great tasting chili con carne and terrific meal for football weather. I took the advice of others and used a base of 28 oz diced tomatoes, 29 oz tomato sauce, and a 10 oz can of tomato soup. I topped it with shredded cheddar and oyster crackers and served with a side of cole slaw. I would prefer it a little thicker so next time I will remove the cover for 30 minutes or so while simmering.

This was very good. I added some corn flour to thicken it a little, and served it with fritos. next time I would add another can of beans. But, I am sure it will be even better tomorrow!
