Flank Steak with Horseradish Sauce
SUBMITTED BY:
Taste of Home Test Kitchen
"An overnight marinade performs double duty, gently flavoring and tenderizing this lean cut of beef. It can be grilled to perfection in only minutes."

DIRECTIONS
Using a sharp knife, score the surface of the steak with shallow diagonal cuts at 1-in. intervals, making diamond shapes. Repeat on other side. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the next five ingredients. Add steak. Seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Combine the sauce ingredients in a small bowl; cover and refrigerate.
Drain and discard marinade. Grill steak, covered, over medium-hot heat for 7-9 minutes on each side or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a meat thermometer should read 145 degrees F; medium, 160 degrees F; well done, 170 degrees F). Thinly slice steak across the grain; serve with sauce.

This was very good. The sauce gave it that little something that my whole family loved. I will make this again. Thanks.

Excellent! Very tasty dish! One of the best steak recipes on allrecipes.com. The dijon / Worcestershire / garlic marinade is superb and so is the horseradish sauce! I doubled the amount of horseradish and the horseradish sauce turned out great. However, there was tons of horseradish sauce left and consequently, I would cut by half the suggested proportions. Nevertheless, this is an excellent steak recipe; I will definitely make it again!

I did not use the marinade, but the Horseradish Sauce recipe was delicious. I ended up dividing my recipe into two small bowls and adding an extra 2 teaspoons of horseradish to one for a spicier kick. Yummy!

Made according to recipe but thinly sliced meat and quickly pan fried with onions, placing both on crusty, toasted french rolls that were drenched with Horseradish Sauce. Heated a touch of the marinade and poured that over meat that was additionally topped with Emmental shredded cheese. Excellent hot lunch. Will add peppers and mushrooms next time for a treat.
