Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine flours, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk and mix just until dough is moistened. Knead on floured surface for 3-5 minutes. Pat onto an ungreased 12-in. pizza pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until golden. cool for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack. Cut into pieces.
