Good. But not the homemade fluffy southern style biscuits I like. Still searching for that...

I also used regular mix and buttermilk in place of water because I couldn't find the buttermilk mix. Otherwise made as written. Excellent, thanks!

Really light and yummy. I couldn't find buttermilk mix so just used the regular bread mix and substituted warm water for warm buttermilk. They're extremely light and perfect for jam.

This was wonderful, though I did use all butter (didn't have shortening). I froze half of the biscuits (unbaked), and boy did they come out as fresh as they did when I first made them. Thank you for an easy, yet delish biscuit recipe!

These biscuits were very good and easy to make, but they do make a sweet biscuit and would be wonderful with jam or butter! I will try making them again, but will try cutting the sugar down to 1 tbsp instead of 2.

Need to update this review as the first time I made them they were a little dry. Don't know what I did differently but made again to eat with our hamburger soup and they were perfect. They were "melt in your mouth flaky" not dry at all. Think it might be that I added about 3 or 4 tbsp. of water more than the recipe called for(1/2 recipe). We will definitely be making these again. I initially made these to use up some extra baking mix I had in the cupboard. I was a little skeptical, as we do not really like the bicuits made using the direction on the back of the box. However the familly loved these biscuits!! We decided they would be great how another reviewer served with Chicken a la King or maybe with egg/sausage/cheese breakfast sandwich like McDs. Thanks for the new biscuit recipe...now I'll need to buy more baking mix!

Oh so good! Unbelievable texture and taste. We cut the recipe in half, but I won't next time. We used half last night - split and served under "Chicken a la King I" recipe from this site. Fabulous! The second half were devoured this morning - split with butter and honey drizzled on them. Oh my good! Thank you so much, Eleanore.

Wow, feather-light is a perfect description! I halved the recipe and used butter instead of shortening. I even goofed up the instructions, and they were still light, tender, and mouth-watering. I followed the lead of Micky MC and let them rise for awhile, and I'll try buttermilk also next time. My Mom gave them a 10, and hubby gave them a 4 (he's not a big biscuit-lover), and they are a hit with me. Thanks for sharing, Eleanore!

Great Recipe but substituted buttermilk for water. Also let them set for about 20 minutes and rise a little before baking. Family loved them as they were wonderfully light and fluffy. Yum!!
