This is a great tasting bread. It was a big hit the first time I fixed it for a fund raiser. It did fall some in the middle, but the taste was amazing.

I make this recipe often but do change a few things to make it the best recipe ever. I add 4 bananas instead of just the one cup. I also add 1 cup of white chocoalte chips and 1 cup of milk chocolate chips. It never lasts long in this house as people stop by to pick some up when they know I have baked it.

I've made banana bread a few times - but nothing spectacular - I've made this one 5 times in the last month. Changes are: 1 C brown sugar, 1 C white sugar, add 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp cinnamon. Bake 53 min. at 350 degrees. Everyone wants it! Baked in a buntd pan.

This is the best BNB I've EVER had. Ever. Here's what I changed: I halved the recipe because we only had a few bananas left. I started with frozen bananas which I mashed defrosted slightly and then whipped up a little with my mixer. By that time they were nearly room temperature, so I went ahead and set them aside to warm up a little more while started on the butter and sugar. I started with softened butter and creamed in half white and half brown sugar. Then, I added the eggs one at a time until they were fully mixed. Finally, I added in about a 1/2 t. of vanilla and the bananas. In a separate bowl, sifted together the dry ingredients, plus a 1/2 t. of cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg. I mixed the walnuts in with the dry ingredients, and then gently folded it into the banana mixture until it was JUST combined. After I put it in a loaf pan, I sprinkled it with a little streusel topping. It only needed to bake for 50-55ish minutes. It's OMG SO GOOD. The only thing I would change next time is reducing the sugar a little because it's very sweet, but this may just be my taste.

This was delicious! I made a few changes based on other reviews: 1) I used half white sugar, half brown sugar. 2) I added 2 tsp. vanilla 3) I used 1/2 tsp. baking powder My own changes: 1) I didn't have any nuts, so I omitted them and I added a bag of peanut-butter chips instead. 2) I ran out of margarine/butter, so I used 1 cup of Crisco and a tsp. of butter flavoring. 3) I added a streusel to the top before baking. When I mixed, I creamed the Crisco and sugars, and then added the eggs and vanilla and used the beaters on them. I added the rest of the ingredients with a spoon. Oh, this was so good...especially with the peanut butter chips! Oh...goodbye diet (at least until this bread is gone)!

This is the BEST!! I have made almost all Banana Nut Bread's on this site and this is my favorite. That said ...I did make some changes. I added vanilla and cinnamon, a tablespoon each. I changed the sugar amount, because I think this way is sweet enough.. 3/4 cup white sugar and 1/2 brown sugar. 40 minutes in the oven did it for me. I sprinkled some nuts on top before putting it in .... just for "good looks"

Excellent BNB. Made 6 batches to give away and take for a beach trip in August. I never even got a smell!! (other than the piece I had at home before the trip) Wonderful comments and was asked for recipe. Making more tomorrow for company that is coming from South Carolina. I have put this in my favorite recipe folder.

Fabulous BNB! I did not make any changes in the ingredients other than using 1 c. white sugar and 1 c. brown and I used margarine because that's all I had on hand. I baked 2 9X5 loaves for about 40-45 minutes. I did completely flub up the mixing of the ingredients. I was in a hurry and hate to admit I did not read ahead. The ingredients went into the mixing bowl in order of appearance. Of course, I realized my "mistake" before baking and was afraid I'd messed up big time. If it comes out better by actually following the instructions, I don't think I'll be able to take it.

I made this bread just the way the recipe is written. This bread is fabulous. I am not a big banana nut bread lover - I was making it for my son-in-law - I just had to taste because it looked so good. It is great!!!! I highly recommend this recipe.

Made this for best friend's birthday. She said it is absolutely the best banana bread she had ever eaten. I sprinkled the bread pans with a cinnamon/sugar mixture after greasing and then poured batter in.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE This recipe and can't stop talking about it or eating it. I've never tried adding the others recommendations because I just can't imagine it being any better but I do add chocolate chips to most of it so I won't eat it. I even joined allrecipes just so I could say how fabulous this recipe is. Thank you to Saseigel's mom for sure!

This banana bread was very tasty, I added just slightly more than 2 cups banana's. And oddly enough, I only made one loaf with this recipe, one normal sized loaf. So I wouldn't say that it makes two unless they're really tiny. OH and I did a little research amd found that baking soda shouldn't be used in recipes that require long bake times because the chemical reaction that occurs when you use b. soda happens immediately after you add it so it must be cooked quickly. That could be why some people report unleavened breads. At the same time that could be what helps the density of this bread, i would add that extra tsp of baking powder, or even substitute one tsp of soda for powder.

I gave this recipe 5 stars with my changes. Instead of butter I used butter flavored crisco sticks. I substitued 1 cup brown sugar, for 1 cup white sugar. Also added 2 tsp cinnamon and a tbsp of vanilla and I used 1/2 cup chopped pecans instead of the walnuts.

I did follow the advise of the first & third reviews - I blended as directed in review one, adding 1 tsp vanilla & 2 tsp of cinnamon as suggested there - I also added 1/2 tsp of baking powder as suggested in review 3. I didn't have any brown sugar handy, but it wasn't neccesary... OMG! I actually ate two loaves of 'EBNB' in less than a week. There wasn't enough for friends! Save this recipe as noted - and you will be a very plump happy camper!
