I have made this several times and I am going to keep looking. This is not a kid friendly recipe with all the spice. I too think that that it is a little sweet and spicy, but do believe that at least a 1/4 tsp of brown sugar should be added to counteract the acidity in the tomato paste and pepper omitted. Will try slow cooking for a few hours next time. Afterall spaghetti is always better in the crockpot.

My husband and I really enjoy this pizza sauce, but when we took it to a family dinner they weren't impressed. I cut down the cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes by 1/4 and still tasted fine.

I made 40 servings of this spaghetti w/ fresh tomatoes from my garden and froze in 2 cup increments. The sauce is good and I will definately make again, but there are some changes I am going to make. The honey is too overpowering - I'd recommend at least cutting in half, if not eliminating all together. (I have to add red pepper flakes when it put it on the pizza to cut the sweetness). Also, the sauce has a grainy consistency due to the parmesan cheese - I will add it in slowly next time and stop when it overpowers the texture of the sauce. Otherwise, I think that the flavor will be good next time. I'm not sure if the problems I noted are because I made so much or if they would be present in smaller amounts, but I think that it definately needs tweaking.

My husband and I love the bold flavors of the pizza sauce. However, my three year old and one year old aren't the biggest fans. The three year old won't eat it at all and my one year old eats very little. we cut back the red pepper and then it's too sweet. We've cut back on both and then it's a little too dull for us. We're going to keep making it as written in hopes the girls will change their minds eventually.

I have never made my own pizza sauce but I will be from now on. It was a little on the spicy side for me but my husband loved it. I may omit the caynne pepper next time.

This was our first experiment with homemade pizza from scratch. Made the crust dough in our breadmaker and tried out this recipe for the sauce. Per other reviewers, we cut the honey and red pepper in half (and then doubled everything to make more sauce overall). It made 2 medium pizzas with a bit of sauce leftover to dip crusts in. I wasn't as pleased with the sauce alone just dipping the crusts into it, but on the actual pizza itself it was WONDERFUL! I divided one into thirds (Hawaiian, sausage/bacon, and cheese) and each part was sooo good. Much cheaper than buying 2 medium pizzas and we had a lot of fun making them! Thank you for a great sauce recipe! We will definitely use this again!

So GOOD! The best ever. I used 1 tsp. garlic powder instead of fresh. Only because I was lazy :) This is the best sauce. Even if you don't have time to let it sit. It is so flavorful! Great for breadstick sauce too! A+++ Thanks! Jennifer

This sauce has great flavor, but is a little too sweet for my family's tastes. I am going to try it without the honey next time.

I love this pizza sauce!!! It is on the sweet side, but that's the way I like it. I have made it with and without the anchovy paste--both ways are good, but I think the paste makes it taste the best. I sometimes use an 8 ounce can of tomato sauce in place of the tomato paste and water. Also, I usually omit the marjoram. This recipe freezes really well, so make a bunch and freeze it in individual containers. Thaw one out when you need it for great tasting pizza!!!

Great! Would use less cayenne pepper in future. Did not use red pepper flakes and anchovie paste b/c of four year old. Used on Jays Signature Pizza Crust - yummy!
