I liked this quite a bit and it was so easy! I did make it in the morning and used it that evening, so the flavors had time to combine well. When I had first made it I didn't care for it, but by the time I used it on my pizza it was great! I didn't add quite as much honey but I do think that it is an important element in cutting the acidity of the tomato paste, and heat. I often use anchovy fillets/paste in my pasta sauce---they don't taste "fishy" they just add a layer of flavor. To all those reluctant, I encourage you to try! I made mini pizzas with my kids with this sauce and they (ages 2 and 4) ate it all up :) when I make it again I may add some chopped tomatoes into the sauce, just because I miss that "chunky" element---other than that, thought it was very good!

Thought this was excellent--so easy to put together, no need to buy pizza sauce already made.....thank you!

Such an easy sauce to make! Very flavorful. It was a bit too sweet for my taste, so next time I will probably try 1 Tbsp. honey instead of 2. Other than that, the sauce will surely be a favorite around our house.

I admit to being a little disappointed after all the rave reviews. The sauce is good but didn't live up to my expectations. To me, the pepper overpowered all the other spices. I think I would double the basil and oregano next time, or possibly use fresh instead of dry.

Excellent! I added some red wine to the water for a warmer flavor. I make pizza on our gas grill fairly often and this will be the recipe I use from now on. A keeper!

I decided to make this exactly as written, although I was very leery of some of the ingredients - honey, for instance and I usually don't care for basil in my pizza sauce. I even made a special trip to the grocery store for anchovy paste. My recommendation? Don't change a thing. This is a five star recipe. Do pay attention to the notation to add salt to taste. I doubled my recipe and believe I added about 1/2 tsp. of salt. If you double the recipe, I believe it makes enough to generously cover three good sized pizzas. I felt that the recipe, as written makes a bit too much for just one pie. Try Jay's Signature Pizza Crust from this site. It's another winner.

Fabulous! I hate to admit, I was a bit skeptical at first after reading some of the recent reviews, but this is GREAT! The honey absolutely doesn't over-sweeten the sauce. I used fresh basil and oregano from my herb garden and even added a splash of cabernet sauvignon left from last night! :-) This is definitely a keeper and for those who are skeptical, you must at least give it a try! Also, I made mini pizzas with this sauce using mini pita breads. Just cut them in half, fill with the sauce and top with the cheese. My 17-month old toddler loved them!

I love this pizza sauce! It's super-easy and the best part is - you don't have to cook it! I make pizza once a week and my family loves the new flavorful pizza sauce! Delicious! As noted by a previous reviewer - i scaled the serving size to 100 - and store it in a spice jar. I taped a note to the jar to use the amount needed for 1x the recipe. I use i can of tomato paste, 6oz. water....and I add 2 tsp. of the spice mixture! i let the mixture "mingle" for atleast an hour. fantastic! I have even used this spice mixture as a "go-to" italian spice. I leave out the anchovy paste. The sweetness from the honey doesn't bother me n the pizza. When i try this sauce on something else - i might make adjustments to the honey.

Nothing was appealing to me at all (and I'm not exactly a pizza snob). The color was muddy, but the flavor was not good. The reason I'm giving it one star is because I couldn't find a high quality anchovy paste and had to settle for an inexpensive brand. Don't know if that's enough to make a huge difference.

I followed the recipe exactly and it was very tasty. I did add the anchovy paste, and the salt as other reviewers had recommended. I thought it tasted like a pizza sauce you would get at a good restaurant.

Much too sweet and not enough spices for me. I added more spices and would use almost no honey (or sugar) next time. I prefer a much more savory pizza sauce than this turned out to be.

This is a DELICIOUS sauce (yet it is pretty thick)...I made this minus the anchovies & used just 1 Tbsp. honey...You may want to add a tad more water, until you can easily spread it. Used this w/ the 'Jay's Signature Pizza Crust' recipe from this site.

This was soooo good. I did not add anchovy paste b/c I don't like it. Also, I did not have any cayenne pepper or dried red pepper flakes on hand. I thought the sauce was a little too sweet, so I will reduce the honey to 1 T. next time. I made this with the Pizza Dough I recipe on this site. I used all of the sauce for it, but I think 1/2 is enough. I am giving this 5 stars b/c the taste was absolutely superb. Thank you!!!
