Original Recipe Yield 6 dozen
 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup crisp rice cereal
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  2. Mix all ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  3. Bake until lightly brown.
