I made my own burritos with ground turkey, Campbell cheese sauce, red pepper, onion and Old El Paso instant spanish rice for inside the burrito...the sauce was perfect on top!

Only rating the sauce, I stuck to the recipe, but found myself doctoring it up considerably while it was simmering, as it was bland for my taste. I used beef base dissolved in the water in lieu of the bouillion, thus eliminating the salt. After I added more chili powder, garlic/onion powders, pepper, and cilantro, it suited our taste for our smothered beefy burritos, however, it scored 3 stars as written. It is a solid base from which to season to taste, and a quick "go-to" sauce in a pinch.

Sauce is fabulous! I made enchiladas using Dee's Roast Pork for filling. Dangerously delicious!

This sauce was AMAZING! The only thing different that I did was add a tablespoon of sugar to cut the acidy tomato taste. My husband and I made these together and did a taste test. I actually bought a can of enchilada sauce just in case we didn't like the homemade stuff and hands-down, the homemade sauce won 100%! We will never buy another can of enchilada sauce.

I only gave it four stars because it was a little thicker than I liked. I poured it over beef filled tortillas and it was a big hit with the family the kids had seconds!!

Thank you!!! I am living in Germany and have been looking for a recipe for a homemade enchilada sauce FOREVER. I made my own burritos and topped them with this sauce it was like being home again!!! Delicious.

Amazing sauce! I did not use the frozen burritos. Made fresh with ground turkey, cilantro, cumin, touch of chili powder, garlic, and black beans. I have a 3 year old and he chowed down. He is in a super picky stage right now, so that says alot for the dish.

I rated this recipe high simply because I am so happy to find out that I can make my own enchilada sauce. Enchilada sauce can be a little pricey especially when you are making a large serving and need more than a few cans. I made my own burritos with beans and beef in them instead of using the frozen store bought ones. These turned out good and this recipe is definitely a keeper. I am so excited that I will never have to buy the sauce in the can ever again!!!

I wasn't sure. I always make my own Burritos, but I was looking for a few quick meals for a working mom. This was was really good. Got great raves on it and would absolutley make it again. Get sauce!!!
