Enchilada-Style Burritos
SUBMITTED BY:
Terry Ann Christensen
"'Our family loves Mexican food, but I couldn't find a recipe for homemade burritos that we liked as much as the frozen varieties,' comments Terry Ann Christensen of Roy, Utah. 'So I came up with a not-too-spicy homemade sauce that dresses them up.'"

Oh my goodness!! This is the best enchilada sauce ever!! I rolled taco filling in tortillas rather than using frozen burritos, so baking time was only about 10 minutes (long enough for the cheese to melt!). My family loved it!

Made the sauce to use with my own homemade burritos and it was really good. Much better tasting than canned sauce. I added a little more chili powder and cumin than was listed and used garlic salt instead of regular salt.

Made only the sauce and it was pretty good, nice taste, super easy! I've made this with 4 onces of tomato paste and and extra 1/2 cup water when I didn't have tomato sauce and it turns out the same. Thanks for the nice sauce.

I make this weekly. My family loves this recipe. It is so quick and easy. I use a bag of 10 burritos, which are gobbled up. I now make 14 because that is all that will fit in my pan.

Execellent sauce !! Made the burritos from another recipe from this site, that the sauce called for enchilada sauce, that I'm not a fan of. This sauce was the winning ticket !! Thank's so much !!! The combo of the two were amazing !!! Defintely a keeper !!! Will make on a regular basis !!! :)

This was wonderful. I made my own burritos out of left over roast, black beans and cilantro rice. I didn't have any beef bouilion so I used Lipton beefy onion soup mix. It worked out great

I used this for the home-made sauce only. It turned out wonderful on top of our home-made burritos. I topped it all with loads of cheese and chopped green onions. They didn't last past the next morning. Thanks for the sauce, it's so much better than anything from a can.
