This was my first time making meatloaf. I did it mostly for my husband, as I have never been a big fan. I chose this recipe because it didn't have pieces of peppers and onions, or the sweet glaze on top. It was WONDERFUL! I really loved it, thank you so much. I made some minor adjustments - used only 1 cup of breadcrumbs and 2/3 cup sour cream. Otherwise, I stick to the recipe. Very moist and flavorful!

This was very good. Also good with ranch dip instead of the sour cream. I think a few people confused ranch sour cream dip with ranch dressing, which would add a lot more fat and only make it more greasy. I did use less bread crumbs, which can make meatloaf dry and mealy if too much is used as "filler". The onion soup mix is the key to it being juicy and not dry also.

My family loves this. I usually use 1-2 lbs ground beef plus another pound of ground sausage. Instead of onion soup mix, I substitute diced onions, garlic powder, black pepper, and cumin. I top off with cheddar cheese for the final 10-15 minutes. Plus, always served with mashed potatoes. Yum!

This recipe was okay. Not a huge hit, however. The parmesan was seemed a bit out of place. Brown sugar meatloaf on this site is still my favorite.

Awesome, with a few minor adjustments I made. Instead of using an onion soup mix, I sauteed 1/2 chopped onion and 1/2 chopped pepper in some butter for about 15 minutes. Then I mixed with the rest of the ingredients. I only used about 1/2 cup of lite sour cream. It turned out absoultely delicious! I'm not usually one for meatloaf since it tends to turn out dry & crumbly, too salty or too greasy and most have a ketchup topping to make it appear moist(not a fave). But this recipe was a great basis for a moist and hearty loaf, and with the alterations I made it is definitely a keeper!

Not bad at all...flavorful but still has the traditional meatloaf taste. I prefer tomato sauce poured over it. I tried the 1/2 ranch dressing and half sour cream, but I think it made it too gooey. I like mine a bit more dry.

I have been commanded to never make any other meatloaf recipe again after my boyfriend ate this one! We loved the texture...held it's shape even though I don't own a loaf pan! Used seasoned bread crumbs and topped with ketchup. Made the best leftovers!

This was really delicious!! I used half sour cream and half ranch dressing. I removed the foil after an hour, and I put a mixture of cocktail sauce and ketchup on the top and baked for an additional half hour uncovered. WOW -- The cocktail sauce REALLY gave it a delicious zing. Everyone loved this. Thanks!

Made this last night and it was yummy! Used other's suggestions and put in 1/2 c. sour cream, and 1/2 c. ranch dressing. Also, I only used 3/4 c. of bread crumbs, and 1/2 pkg. of the soup mix, added a splash of A-1 and Tabasco. Served with mashed potaoes and fresh corn off the cob. Will definitely make this one again!

It was good ... nice thick and moist. I think I'd add onions and green peppers to it next time and some bbq sauce on top during the last several minutes of baking.

Probably the best meatloaf I've tasted (and I made it!!). I did not put but 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs based on another review. When I took off the foil (per the recipe) I put the following on top: In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup ketchup, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 1 teaspoon mustard powder. Make sure you drain off the excess fat before you do this. I also put hot & spicy Allegro in the mixture instead of Worcestershire sauce. Delicious.
