This is an excellent recipe. Very good rich flavors. People, please make sure that you are using 3/4 inch bread. I buy a loaf of white "Texas Toast" bread. It is cut fatter than regular bread and it soaks up the liquid. Yum!!!

I admit I did not try this recipe. BUT if you want eggnog french toast, simply follow your traditional recipe for making french toast but use eggnog instead of milk or cream. Use nutmeg instead of cinnamon. I make it every Christmas morning and the entire family raves over it. Key to it not being soggy is to not over soak the bread. I cut it in triangles, lay it out like a Christmas tree and use a link sausage as the tree trunk. Sprinkle the plate with conf sugar to look like snow. The kids like the "tree" sprinkled with green sprinkles. Makes a lovely table.

I had company last week-end and decided to make this. EVERYONE loved it! and wanted the recipe. Only thing I did differently, was to cook each slice in a skillet with a little butter instead of baking the slices. Then I sprinkled with a little powdered sugar. Some had a nice buttery syrup on top, too. Will certainly make this again. (Family thought they were at a Bed and Breakfast with this one!) :)

This was okay. I cut this down to four servings and upped the nutmeg. The kids and I loved it, my husband was more "meh". I think I might just cut out the time involved and use a pre-made eggnog next time.

Excellent! Our 9 yr old daughter loved it, too! What a treat during the holidays.I added a TBL of sugar, and used cinnamon swirl bread (thick cut).

I tried this recipe. I'm not sure if I did something wrong. It seemed soggy and din't brown up like I thought it would. It was bland and the nutmeg just didn't seem to go too well. I will try it again just to make sure.
