Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/4 cups white sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup eggnog
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon ground nutmeg

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  2. Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Cream together the sugar and butter. Add eggnog, vanilla and egg yolks and beat until smooth.
  4. Add the flour mixture and mix until combined; be careful not to overmix.
  5. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets 1 inch apart. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg. Bake for 23 to 25 minutes or until bottoms turn light brown. Transfer to cool, flat surface immediately with a spatula.
