DIRECTIONS
Crack the egg into a microwave-safe cereal bowl and whisk in the milk. Season with salt and pepper. Cook in the microwave on 100% power for 1 to 2 minutes, or until cooked through.
While the egg is cooking, toast the bread. Use a spoon to remove the cooked egg from the bowl and set it on one piece of toast. Top with a slice of cheese and the other piece of toast. Cook in the microwave until cheese is melted, about 15 seconds.

Sort of like a home-made Egg McMuffin. It's pretty bland, though. It will be better with some bacon or ham on it. I would recommend trying to toast this in the oven since the bottom piece of toast got soggy while microwaving to melt the cheese. Good base since it was so simple. I'll make it again, but with my own adjustments.

One egg on a sandwich isn't enough for me, I had to double. I didn't microwave it either. The egg and toast were hot enough to melt the cheese just fine.

I give it 5 stars because it was really quick, tasted great, and really hit the spot. For all the moms out there if you need a quick breakfast for the kiddos this is a great one especially since it isn't messy!!!

This really was delicious. Putting it in a bowl is a nice idea, because it is exactly the size of the bread. It saves the hassle of getting a pan out, putting butter/cook spray on it, big mess afterwards, etc. I put some ham in it though, and it was awesome. everyone should defiantely try this!

I made this as a quick and easy dinner. I cooked the eggs in the skillet on the stove instead of the microwave. I layed the cheese on top after the eggs were done. The heat from eggs was enough to melt the cheese. served with grapes.

Might not be for everyone, but I added strawberry jelly to one of the pieces of toast and it was awesome. Don't ask me why, I just felt like using jelly.

Easy to make, even easier to clean up. Perfect for when you're feeling lazy or of you're low on time. But the bread did get soggy when microwaving it to melt the cheese. I would try toasting it if you have the time. Also, I had to sauce it up - I just didn't nuke the top piece of bread with the rest. This recipe is, however, taking something that should be a healthy breakfast and turning it into processed junk. Use whole wheat bread (it really does taste better once your palate gets used to it); cage-free, organic eggs from vegetarian-fed hens; and real, cheddar cheese (if it comes in individually packaged squares, it has lost most of the great nutritional value cheese has to offer). Just because you're cooking for ease doesn't mean that the ingredients have to be lacking.

When I am only making breakfast for myself it doesn't get any easier than this. If my family was eating they would want bacon. I also put the cheese on toward the end of the toasting. Thanks!
