Original Recipe Yield 1 -9-inch pie
 

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie

Directions

  1. Mix together eggs, milk, vanilla, sugar, and salt, and pour into pie shell.
  2. Bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 12-13 minutes, then reduce heat to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and bake for 30 minutes.
