I have made this cake several times and it is a favorite with my son... I do my own variation because the chocolate frosting was just TOO sweet for us... instead I use chocolate pudding mix with cool whip so I use one small box pudding and 8 oz cool whip.... i also have diabetic family members.. so i also do the sugar free puddings and cool whip, skim milk and low fat graham crackers and my son can't tell the difference...

YUM YUM YUM! Didn't think this was going to be anything other than the same ol' pudding recipe...wrong! Really does taste like an eclair! I used skim milk and light cool whip, and it was still amazing! DEFINITELY warm the frosting in the microwave then drizzle it on top- soo much easier than spreading. And it gets better as it sits. Day 2 and it was perfect! Will definitely be making this again soon!

we loved it! i announced that it had to be refrigerated for 2 days before we could eat it...that was hard! i would recommend the cinnamon graham crackers and french vanilla pudding. i personally don't like prepared frostings, so i tried hot fudge ice cream topping. i heated it in the microwave and poured it on...good, but very sweet.

This went over ok with everyone... Not stellar, but some people liked it a lot. Note: If you don't like mushy desserts, this one isn't for you.

My family LOVES this! It is SO easy and looks nice when served. Frosting is much easier to spread if you heat it up a little first.

I had to make a fast, but yummy dessert last new years day. I checked this website using quick no bake desserts. EVERYONE loved this easy recipe. I love it because its so quick and easy. I ended up making it 3 more times this year. I didn't use frosting for the chocolate I used hot fudge, heated up made it easy to pour over top.

Made my own 'fudge' like topping for this...it was very very very sweet, but good. Individual servings need not be large. Extremely easy and I think could be a pretty presentation.

I'm only giving this a 4 because I had an old version of the recipe that I think is better. Try using french vanilla pudding instead of regular vanilla and always refrigerate overnight. That will make it take exactly like an eclair. Also, as someone else on the site noted, heat the frosting and pour it over the cake. It will be smooth and shiny the next morning when you take it out of the fridge. With those changes, this is a 5.

i thought that this recipe was pretty good. i took it to a family dinner and everyone loved it, especially the kids. next time i make it i might try to add some stuff or try different pudding mixes or cinnamon graham crackers. i also took the advice of microwaving the frosting and pouring it on. made it much easier. thanks for the recipe!

This was the first dessert to be finished at a recent cookout. I followed the suggestion about softening the graham crackers in milk before layering. Used French Vanilla pudding and, instead of frosting, I melted half a bag of chocolate chips (mixed w/ a tad of milk) and drizzled over the top. This made it more like an eclair. Thanks for the recipe!
