I agree - easy and delicious! I used Newmans Family Recipe Italian dressing. I omitted the chicken broth and just left a cup of the juices from the chicken and salad dressing in the crock pot. I also softened the cream cheese before adding it. My whole family really enjoyed it. We served it over pasta, but I like the idea from another reviewer for using it as a pizza topping. We'll try that next time.

Easy, yes. Delicious, not so sure. Really, it wasn't as good as just alfredo or marinara.

My husband thought the sauce was decent but that there was way too much chicken in it. He praises most of what I make, and so when he says "it's okay" I usually don't make it again. I honestly didn't like the sauce...I tasted way too much cream cheese, and thought it was really salty for some reason (even though I used low-sodium chicken broth as well). I thought the sauce was too thick. Thanks to other reviewers, I doctored it a little and it turned out okay (I ended up adding mushrooms, garlic, onion, peppers, more pepper, milk after we tried it). Thanks, though, it was easy, and edible...good base recipe that you can tweak to your own likings. It sounds like everyone else really liked it. :)

I have made this over and over! I just Zesty Italian dressing and instead of draining the chicken completely, I leave about 1/4 cup of the dressing in with the chicken when I shred it. This way I don't have to add any more spices to the recipe, and it keeps a bit of the "italian" flavor. I've been asked for the recipe over and over!

If you follow this recipe, make sure the chicken is fully thawed. There is a big risk of food poisoning when cooking with frozen chicken in the crock pot.

This was yummy....but i did saute onion and garlic to throw in at the last hour after you drain the chicken and shred it.It was good, i had a lot left over and i used the left over sauce for a alfredo like pizza sauce today on a pizza with spinich and peppers, mozzerella and cheddar, my picky 8 year old had 3 slices, it was way yummy on the pizza.

It smelled great and the first time I ate it I enjoyed it, but it didn't re-heat too well. Also, I couldn't get the cream cheese to melt.

This wasn't a bad recipe. Thank you for sharing it. I must have done something wrong, although I followed the recipe. The cream cheese didn't melt down and we ended up with clumps.

My 7 year old said, I thought this would be disgusting, but is not, it's delicious!! She was right, this is so easy, and pleases the entire family. We added some chow-mein noodles on top for crunch. We are having this once a week. I have tried it on top of rice and spaghetti, and we prefer the spaghetti! Thanks for a very easy recipe!!

I thought this was pretty good for how easy it is... One thing I did was mix up my sauce in the morning when I put the chicken in the slow cooker. I zapped the cream cheese in the microwave for a few seconds just to soften it and used a mixer to blend the canned soup, cream cheese, broth, & seasonings because I quickly realized it would be lumpy if I didn't. Then all I had to do to finish it that evening was drain the chicken, shred it and return it to the slow cooker with my pre-mixed sauce. I used sundried tomato italian style dressing and thought this was good enough to make again.

This recipe was SOOO good. My VERY picky boyfriend loved it. I added green peppers, black olives and served over egg noodles. Oh, I used cream of chicken soup with herbs, not regular. Overall, delicious. Chicken just fell apart. For those of you who said Italian dressing was overpowering, I'm guessing you forgot to drain it. Because you couldn't really taste it. Make sure you drain that before mixing it up.

Pretty good. My chicken turned out dry (weird, I know), but it had a good taste. The last hour of cooking, after shredding the chicken, I added some frozen vegetables.(I didn't add the cream cheese because I didn't have any. I did add some sour cream and from some reason it didn't entirely melt and there were still some globs of it...no worries though. If I were adding cream cheese, I'd melt it entirely before adding it to the chicken.) As other reviewers said, it's like a tuna noodle casserole, so I just helped it out a little by adding veggies. I served over, you guessed it, pasta. This would probably taste good over rice, making it like a Hawaiian Haystack. It was easy and I hardly had to worry about dinner, so I'll probably make it again sometime when I'm feeling lazy in the morning. Not something I'd make for company, but a good family dinner nonetheless. Tasted better the next day!
