This was AWESOME!! After my husband and I bit into it we decided it needed something else so we threw a slice of swiss cheese on it, and decided this was a MUST HAVE!! EXCELLENT! Used Guiness beer which is a lot darker and made a wonderfull richness to the dip.

Love this recipe. I typically slice the meat and place it back in the sauce so it can absorb more of the liquid allowing it to become very moist. Always a hit and great for a crowd.

This recipe is delicious! I have made it several times and it turns out perfect every time. I like to use ciabatta rolls and top the meat with provolone cheese. Sometimes i even sautee onions and mushrooms and them top it all with the provolone. I do agree that a darker beer adds better flavor!

Very easy and delicious! Tried some of the different variations, but the easiest is to follow the recipe and it turns out great. The only adjustments that seem to work with our family is I use the chuck roast and a darker beer. The meat just falls apart! My husband can not get enough of this dish. I can't think of anything easier to make.

This was so tasty. My husband said it was the best french dip he has very had. You have to try it, I will make this for guests instead of the old stand by.

I'm giving this 4 stars b/c it's easy and turned out very tasty! The au jus was great- not too salty. I followed the basic recipe, and added 1.5 tbsp worchestershire sauce as suggested below and some fresh ground pepper to the meat. So tender! With just me and the hubby, we're looking forward to all the leftovers.

OMG, this is deeeelish! My hubby loved it too. This will be added to our fall/winter rotation. I used a chuck roast & it was great, tender & full of flavor. I did add garlic powder just because I like garlic in everything. I didn't have a dark beer so I used an lager that we had in the fridge. I will try Guiness next time. Im useing the leftovers this weekend for a quick pot roast! YUM

It was really flavorful and the meat was really juicy and tender. The au jus that is left is very tasty! Great recipe!

It was good, but as with many slow cooker meals, the flavor was watered down...to me anyway. The leftovers made a decent pot roast dinner the next night, though. The sauce was tasty, but I would prefer it separate and the roast done in an oven. Again, personal preferences.

My husband LOVES this...I brush olive oil and garlic salt on the rolls and melt a bit of swiss cheese on them while in the oven. We eat this for dinner and lunch every day until it's gone and then hubby pouts 'cus he'll miss it so much...

I forgot to get the french onion soup so I just cut up an onion and added it. I used an entire can of beer and beef broth. The sandwiches were so good. We also put the onions on it. VERY GOOD!!!

One of my favorite slow cooker recipes! Not only are the flavors great, but you don't need to do any prep work, just toss it all in the pot. So if you don't have a lot of time, say you want something to make in the morning, go to work, and come home to this is perfect. I also serve it how I have seen others do, on a toasted roll with melted cheese (swiss, american, provolone, any kind really) on top. Great for lunch the next day too!

So good.. so easy. I make this often, and the only change I make is to melt some swiss or provolone cheese on top of the rolls in the oven. I usually use Bud Light beer. This recipe's a keeper! Try it!
