My husband and I found this soup delicious! I used cream of celery soup instead of evaporated milk. Next time I might add some fresh celery as well.

As written I think this is a little bland. I added some salt, then some Cajun seasoning and it was better but still lacked "something". My husband really liked it though, so I will give it a compromise 4-star as the average of his evaluation and mine.

Good recipe. I modified it a little, left out the basil, simply b/c I didn't have any, and added red pepper flakes and paprika. Also substituted cream for the evaporated milk and creamed corn. Served with corn bread - delicious!

My family loves this soup, even my son who doesn't like soups. It is quick to prepare and tasty. A real winner with my family!

I used dried herbs instead of fresh, which may have made enough of a difference? Definitely needed more salt. Thanks for the post, but we personally prefer other sausage chowder recipes.
