I've tried many sauce recipes and lots of shortcuts. This one is my family's favorite, and it's so simply and delicious. Just what I was looking for!

Was very good once I figured out how to melt parmesan correctly! Man was I surprised when it all just clumped up and refused to melt-thank goodness I'm not the only clueless one-lots of helpful tips online. Had to go back to the store and buy more cheese and cream :p

Oooooh, I was pleasantly surprised by this simple recipe. The taste was very very good. I added some turkey from a turkey breast that I had cooked. Other than that, followed the recipe exactly!

Next time, I'll add a hair less nutmeg and at least 1/8 t. of salt and pepper, each.

I really liked this recipe, even though I made some changes. It turned out really well. I didn't have whipping cream, so I used the rest of the evaporated milk I had left from another recipe I did today. I added about a tablespoon and a half-ish of cream cheese because the e. milk is much more watery, but it still turned out watery. I would probably just stick to the recipe the next time I make this. I also added garlic powder, onion powder, basil, oregano, and italian seasoning. It tastes AMAZING. The only other thing I did was that I didn't have as much parmesan as called for, so I shredded up some mozzarella after I drained the noodles. I've heard that doing this helps the sauce to stick. It made it cheesy and great!

Excellent!!! My husband and son asked me to double the recipe next time. The only change I made was to add a 1/4 tsp of garlic powder. It was Awesome! Thanks for sharing.

Works better in a double boiler. Heat the butter first, then add the cream, and after that the parmesan. Very simple sauce and a classic, first developed by Alfredo of Rome, I believe. For an interesting twist, steam broccoli florets and then add to the Alfredo sauce over cooked pasta. Rather than frozen tortellini, I prefer fresh Spinach pasta from the health food store.

I was surprised at how well this turned out since it was so fast and easy. But this goes over great with fettucine noodles when in a fix for looking for homemade.
