Sent this to a pot luck dinner at church which I was to sick to attend. Friends returned thee empty dish and hadn't even gotten any as it was goobled up by those ahead of them in line. So I increased he ingredients by half and made two 8x8 and one small round casserole for friends & my next door neighbors. They loved it also.

I really liked this recipe and so did my husband. Instead of ground beef I used a little over a pound of chorizo (without the casing) from a Hispanic store near my home, drained the grease. I also used fresh salsa from the deli area of my grocery store. I mixed 2/3 can of black beans and 2/3 can of chili beans, both rinsed. Two and a half cups finely crushed chips worked well for me, and 16oz container of sour cream. I bought canned diced tomatoes with zesty jalapenos, and did a cup of green onions instead of 1/2. I layer it according to the directions and topped it with Mexican 4 Cheese shredded. My only con is the way the chips turn out. They are sort of chewy and I thought they would be soft. Next time I think I'll exclude them and use this as a dip.

Used black beans instead of chili beans, substituted 1 can drained Rotel instead of fresh tomatoes, just to add a little heat. Just barely crushed the tortilla chips hoping it would keep them from getting soggy, but they got soggy anyway. Maybe they're supposed to. Did not care for this recipe and won't be trying to tweak it because I already have a couple of recipes that are very similar.

This was delicious!!! My 14 yr old even loved it!!! I took a bunch of suggestions and made it to suit the family. Added 1 small can of green chili's and taco seasoning as suggested. I put a single layer of flour tortilla's on the bottom and added the chips on top then added the cheese. The chips were crisp this way. Left out the olives (I don't like them) and just served with a side of sour cream. I may freeze a portion and wasn't sure how the SC would freeze. Will definitely make again!!

This was delicious and so easy! You can add so much to it and make it even better but it's just a great meal for the family. I used other reviewers suggestions and did the taco seasoning and added green chilis and wow, it just made it have so much more zing to it. Highly recommend this recipe!

Super easy ... Almost too easy! I got overconfident and ended up screwing up a bit. Luckily, it still turned out great! I used ground turkey seasoned with a taco seasoning recipe I found here but then spiced it up a bit more. Also mixed in worchestire sauce ... Forgot to mix the salsa with the meat, but I put it on top of the sour cream layer. It seemed to work out just fine. :)
