This was seriously good eats! I cannot wait to indulge in the leftovers today for lunch! I used black beans and red onion and omitted the olives.

I made this for dinner last night and my hb devoured it! It was very good and I will definitely make it again. I used cheese tortillas for the bottom (which I did not add to many because of the reviews) but I did not find they were soggy at all and my hb said I should have used more. The only change I made was to use red onion diced and added with the beef when frying and I did not use the green onion. Thanks for the recipe.

Very yummy - the family loved it! I did add a packet of taco seasoning after reading the reviews as well and it turned out great.

This was good,I did use taco seasoning,I think it added,I used some petite tomatoes with jalapenos in them. and three cups of crushed chips was enough, really more than enough,I had enough for the pan and to put on top. again,a good recipe.

This was a really yummy casserole. I used a homemade salsa that was pretty hot. Do remember that most of your flavor is coming from the salsa you use so use a good one. I put some peppers and onions in the meat while I browned it. I really didn't see a need to add taco seasoning as others have. I also didn't have any fresh tomatos so I used some well drained canned rotel I had lurking in the fridge. I also think that 3 cups of chips is a proper amount as mine soaked up all the wonderful juice from the meat mixture. All in all this is something I will make again as we really enjoyed it.

Made as stated in the original recipe with one change, black beans. Very kid friendly, as you can recognize every ingredient after it's cooked. Very important in casseroles for my 5 & 6 year olds....and they asked me to make it again! Thank you for sharing.

Good starter recipe. I used half ground beef and half ground turkey. I added one batch of Bill Echols taco seasoning, a little lime juice and a can of chilis. I think it might have been a little bland without it. My boys really liked this. I thought it was just okay. NOTE: You might want to rinse your beans, to remove the "tinny" taste.

Be as Mexican as you want here, I mean use pinto beans and Chiuaua (mexican) cheese... The possibilities are endless with this great idea for a casserole! I strongly suggest freshly chopped cilantro here, YUM!

I've made this a few times but with a couple of changes, listed here in order of importance. First and foremost, add a can of diced green chiles (drained) with the tomatoes, and a layer of CREAM STYLE CORN on top of the main (meat) layer. Secondly, if I'm in a hurry I skip the beef and just mix a can of chili with a can of beans (black, pinto, refried, whatevs) for the main layer. And finally, save some of the sour cream to make three or four big globs on top, and stick a tortilla chip poking out of each one -- this is a worthwhile aesthetic improvement especially if you can get the sour cream globs to brown a tiny bit on the top with the broiler.

Made this tonight as comfort food for a family member who received some tough news. Did the trick. Left out olives (yuck!). Added a layer of smooth, crushed ripe avocado (you'll need at least 4) before the sour cream. This really did something special to the flavor! Drained the meat prior to adding a big can of chili con carne in place of taco spices and beans. Added 1/2 a large fresh green chili pepper chopped fine for added kick. YUMMY! Will make again in the future. Bon apetit!

This tasted really good but it's not exactly something I want to serve my family for dinner. As I was putting it together I realized that it's basically nachos in casserole format. I think it's more of a party/potluck-type dish.

Great for a quick and easy Mexican dinner fix. I added some onion and garlic powders, and about a tablespoon chili powder. Topped with some shredded lettuce and cilantro, with the other veggies and served more salsa on the side.
