This was really good. I didn't use olives b/c we don't like them. I did add jalapenos, though. The chips were soggy like some reviewers stated. It is very much like a nacho meal, and my family used tortilla chips to eat this. Next time I will eliminate the chips and just have them on the side.

Great Easy Dinner! We Love it!I had to add my touch to it as everyone else did. after meat has been browned with a pinch each garlic, pepper,+chili powder I add 1 package taco season and 4 oz. taco sauce .i use black beans instead of chili and I don't add sour cream and leave the chips whole! Suits our tastes perfectly

OMG!!!! This was delicious!!! Only made minor changes. I doubled the recipe, so: Added taco seasoning to 2 lbs beef, used a can of Chili beans and a can of Black beans, used a can of Rotel in place of the tomato, and used small round tortilla chips (not crushed) and placed in a 9x13 pan and an 8x8 pan (making the dish a little thinker ). I served this piping hot with tortilla chips on the side.... This was a hit!!! I will make this again and again, and infact can think of ways of making new variations of this dish: same recipe but no chips in the bottom, after done spooning the mixture into torillas to make it in a burrito style, or agin, no chips at the bottom and serving it as a warm dip dish with tortilla chips at parties.... there is a lot you can do do with this delicious dish!!! Thank you!!! :)

Yea Baby! This is good. I did add the taco seasoning, & I put cilantro instead of olives. I also added sliced avocados after baking. We enjoyed it.

I was a little reluctant about this one, just because the main ingredients are chips & salsa, but it was tasty and easy, and the leftovers disappeared quickly. I cut back on the sour cream and cheese to save a few calories, but let's face it, if you make this, you're basically having nachos for dinner. Not exactly health food.

I used taco seasoning with the meat and didn't add any olives. I also used rotel instead of fresh tomatoes. Other than that I followed the recipe. I didn't like the chips at the bottom, most of them were mushy. Next time I will either not use the chips in the casserole at all or maybe put them somewhere else in the casserole. Except for the chips at the bottom, I thought this was delicious! The reason I am only giving it 3 stars is because my husband and daughter weren't as fond of it as I was. My daughter wouldn't eat it at all after the first bite and my husband just said it was ok. I will probably make some version of this again but with serious changes so my family likes it as much as I did. Thank you very much for a different dinner idea!

Yum! I will make this again. Next time I think I will add some cheese directly on top of the chips as well, before adding the meat mixture to help keep it together. It did fall apart pretty easily. I also adding my own home-made taco seasoning to the meat while cooking it.

Easy and tastes great! Good family meal. I seasoned the beef with taco seasoning. I added a can of corn and a can of black beans to the hamburger.

The family really enjoyed this. I did take a lot of suggestions from other reviewers and modified according to our tastes. Left chips whole (would add more next time). Add taco seasoning to ground beef mixture. Left out olives because of personal preference and added corn. Used black bean, and Rotel in place of fresh tomatoes. Used low fat sour cream. Will definitely make again. A hearty, easy meal.

we really enjoyed this recipe. i used black beans in place of chili beans, 1 can of diced tomatoes with chiles drained, and shredded mexican blend cheese. i also used one pack of taco seasoning on the ground beef before adding the salsa. this was very easy although a little time consuming. we will definently be having this again. thank you for the recipe.

This was really good. I did use the taco seasoning on the meat as others suggested, and it turned out great. However, I think I will omit the chips on the bottom and serve this as a dip. Probably the best mexican dip ever!

To spice this up a little, I would recommend jalapenos be added to the dish. I am going to try using shredded chicken the next time. Very easy.

Great recipe - even for picky eaters! I made this and only put sour cream on half (my husband despises it for some reason) and it still came out great! He loved it!

I needed to make something quick with items I had on hand for my son's college function tonight. I threw this together in about 45 minutes.. start to finish. I added a packet of taco seasoning and used Sam's Choice Thick Medium Salsa. There was no need to simmer for 30 minutes since the salsa is so thick. After cooking the ground beef and adding the taco seasoning I threw in the drained beans and just let it all heat up good.. maybe 5 minutes.. before it all went in the oven. I omitted the tomatoes and the green onions since I didn't have those. I used Fiesta blend cheese. My son sent a text message to my cell phone after the function and said everyone wanted the recipe. Very easy and delicious. Next time I'm going to add a can of diced green chilies and a diced jalepeno. I like a bit more heat.

This was terrible, I ended up throwing the whole thing out! The chips were soggy, I didn't care for the consistency of the heated sour cream, and it lacked any kind of flavor.
