I haven't made it yet but LOVED the pie my friend made using this recipe. And I thought I hated key lime pie until this one! She "adjusted by using 4 egg yolks, scant 2 cans sweetened condensed milk, and scant 1 c. lime juice (i used regular lime juice, from the bottle. it was way cheaper and easier.)" I will try it soon because my husband loved it, too.

I feel bad that i only gave 1 star when everyone is giving 5 stars. maybe it's just me, but i didn't like it at all. don't know what i did wrong, but it didn't set and end up baking 45 minutes. Second time, fallowed others' suggestions. I used 2 cans condensed milk, 4 egg yolks, 2/3 cup of lime juice and the zest of two limes. still didn't turn right.

I like this Key Lime Pie. I don't normally care for them. Everyone liked how creamy it was. Tried making it with 1 cup of Key Lime, 4 egg yokes, 2 cans sweetened condensed milk as suggested. But that made it to limey for me. I then made it exactly the way it says. I used already squeezed key lime juice, for I couldn't find key limes. Everyone who had some really enjoyed it. This will be a keeper. So easy and simple.

Five stars are not enough! I brought this pie to a block party and wrote the recipe down over and over. I followed everyone's advice and used 2 cans of condensed milk, a cup of lime juice, and four egg yolks. I also used a regular pie shell instead of a graham cracker crust, and it was fantastic. The texture and tang were amazing! Seriously great pie.

This was super easy and delicious! I used a cup of Key lime juice as others suggested but next time i will only use half a cup as stated. It was just a tad to tangy, otherwise perfect fool proof recipe!

I have made this twice already, and both times the pie was excellent! I followed the recipe the first time nearly exact, except I used only 4 eggs -- GREAT! But, I wanted more tart...great nonetheless. Second time, I supervised my daughter as she made it...we used the two cans of condensed milk, with 1 C of bottled lime juice, and again it turned out GREAT. I love the recipe, and am now looking at how to slim it down a bit, without cutting the flavor! Love this recipe! Thank you.

This was a great hit at my Island party! I used 4 egg yolks and 2 cans of condensed milk and 1 cup of key lime juice(Nellie & Joes Famous Key Lime Juice). Topped one with Whipped Cream, one with Whipped Topping and one with Meringue. DELICIOUS!!

I have made very few attempts at baking, and have never made a pie before - this pie ROCKS!! It was so easy and tasted amazing, I properly describe the marriage of the tart and sweet flavor, I was blown away - and the texture....oooohhh Heavenly!! I would note that I could not imagine this with anything BUT actual key lime juice -- NO substitutions with this one :) yum!!!

Great! This is a perfect key lime pie. I think if I had used 2 cans of condensed milk like other reviewers suggested I would have had to use a deep dish pie pan. *Update - this has become a common dessert at our house and always comes out perfectly. It's so easy to make and a great summertime dessert!

I've taken the suggestions of 2 cans instead of one and add in lime zest...great colour! And in addition, I put slivered almonds in the graham crust...it makes it lovely and crunchy!

I followed the suggestion of people before me (4 egg yolks, 2 cans sweetened condensed milk, and 1 C lime juice) and also added some green food coloring to give the pie more of a lime look. I thought the taste was delicious, but my mom and I both thought the texture seemed fluffier than what we were used to. Overall, though, I thought it was very good.

My husband loved this but CAUTION: dont get the rind of the limes when you zest. I baked 25 min. This is what I did (like Alexis81). 2/3 cup fresh lime juice (a lot of squeezing), 5 egg yolks and 1.5-2.0 cans of sweetened condensed milk + zest of 3 limes (about 1/2 tsp.)

I read many receipes. Decided to try this one with the recommendations made by other reviewers, 4 yolks, 2 cans condensed milk and 1 cup of key lime juice. Hand squeezed all those little limes! Came out a little too tart almost with a bitter after taste. I'm going to try it again with a little less lime juice. The consistancy is right, but the bitterness is not something I enjoyed. Could have been bad limes, but I will reduce the lime juice to 1/2 or 3/4 cup next time.
