I Googled "hummus without tahini or olive oil" (had neither in the kitchen at the time) and found this. Excellent recipe!

Great recipe. I was instantly addicted to it. I spread it on some freshly made sourdough bread and it was delicious. I will make this again.

Good eats! I did add a little olive oil but other than that, I stayed true to the recipe. Don't think I'll ever buy hummus again. Thanks!

This was great - so quick and easy! We left out the jalepenos and will likely add more of the bean juice or EVOO next time. Thanks for sharing!

This hummus is GREAT. I made it for a potluck and we ate it before I could take it so I had to remake it! I suggest you double the recipe. I will definately be making this one again.

So I had this can of garbanzo beans sitting on my shelf and decided to make some hummus. However, it had to be something simple because I didn't have much else. I found this recipe and gave it a try. In all honesty I did stray from Erin's true recipe, but its close enough to say it was a GREAT basis to start with. I added some extra virgin olive oil (rather than the bean liquid) and salt. Instead of garlic cloves I subsituted 3 tsp of granulated garlic. Instead of the jalapeno, I added 1 tsp of cayenne pepper. After blending it all, I tasted it, and added a few shakes of spice as necessary. Also, its a good idea to cover this with plastic wrap and then allow it to sit in the fridge for at least an hour so that all the flavors can mellow and mix together!

I thought this recipe was great! As with anything i make i tweeked it a bit, omitted the jalps and lessened the lemon juice and cumin. It was rgeat!! Brought it to a bridal shower and everyone loved it! Making more tonight but i'm going to try roasting the garlic first...

I just made this, substituting Great Northern Beans as son has food allergies which include chickpeas and sesame seeds. I added a handful of fresh cilantro and doubled the cumin. Wonderful! I could eat it all right now! Next time, I will definitely double this recipe.

Very tasty. It was my first time making hummus and I needed a healthy version because our guest has high blood pressure and tahini jacked up the sodium and fat. We weren't eating greek so authenticity wasn't an issue. I also added cilantro, cayenne pepper and paprika. I served it with warmed pitas and red bell pepper.

This did not taste like the hummus I have had in restaurants. The jalepeno's are strange, not adding to the normal greek flavor. We ended up throwing it out. I would not make this again.

This was great! This was my second attempt at making hummus and this recipe is a keeper! I did add a little olive oil and I didn't have jalapenos - I'll have to try them in it next time! Thanks Erin!

Tasty! Everybody loved it at the last gathering. Just be sure to be careful with the jalapenos - seeding, dicing, etc. I used oil because I didn't have any lemon juice and it was great! Way better than prepared hummus at the grocery store.

My husband wouldn't kiss me for two days, and the garlic adds (surprisingly) enough heat for me, so I didn't use the jalapeno. Good hummus, though.

Great recipe! Super easy, quick, very healthy and delish too! I added an extra tablespoon of bean juice and a teaspoon of olive oil to get a smoother consistency. Tossed in a little parsley too. I used jalepenos from a jar- tasty! Next time will try sun-dried tomatoes.

This hummus recipe is AWESOME! I don't normally like hummus, but I thought I'd give it one last chance before actually saying I hate it. Now I can't say I hate it! YAY!! Thank you for submitting this recipe!! I didn't add the jalapenos. This is a keeper! I am going to pass this along to all my friends!

This hummus was good and used very little ingredients. I omitted the jalepenos and added 3 sundried tomatoes instead. The only thing I didn't like was the texture, it was a little too thick for my liking. Maybe adding some tahini will make it smoother.

Not bad, but I have a hard time going away from Tahini. I will say though that this is a great way to get a healthier version that is still tasty.
