Really great for a quick meal! In the summer time if I don't feel like heatig up the kitchen, I just warm up the meat in the microwave for 1 minute and butter and toast the hoagie buns. You can also use Aus Jus sauce if you can't find beef consumme.

These are the best. I've been making them for years. We use swiss cheese and make a horseradish/mayo spread to put on the rolls too.

A delicious and easy dinner! However, I toasted the bread a bit before I put the meat on it to keep it from getting soggy. I also used a gravy packet "au jus" in stead of consumme soup, but they tasted very similar.

These were so good...hard to believe how easy it was. The only thing that i did different is that i toasted the bread a little before adding the meat to keep it from getting soggy. I also added onions and bell peppers. I had never heard of consomme before, but i finally found it in the campbells soup section. (just a hint for those who are lost like i was) Quick, Easy, and Delicious.....a definite keeper!

My husband loves french dip sandwiches and after this recipe, I am a convert too. I have made it twice. Once I used a can of beef broth for the sauce, the second time, a packet of au jus. Both times I added onion powder and both broths were delicious. We will definitely make this again!!!

Extremely easy and fast and very tasty too! You can't really ask for better than that. I did add a little bit of onion powder and black pepper to the consomme but that was it. So good and the toasting in the oven gives the bun a nice crispness. I will be making this again!

Great simple recipe! I added some horseradish sauce and pressed them in a panini press, and they were a big hit.

I've made similar sandwiches before - which were great - but these were so easy, and SO, SO good! Everyone loved them!

This is one of our very favorite dinners! Its super duper easy & so delicious! I use a packet of Au Jus Gravy mix instead of beef consume. It turns out great! I butter the hogie buns & broil them in the oven until golden brown, then I follow the recipe & put the cheese on one side of the bread open faced & the meat on the other & broil in oven to melt cheese. Then we dip these in the Au Jus gravy... YUM!
