This is a pretty good recipe, except 16 ounces of whipped topping is too much - really takes away the chocolate flavor. Try 8 ounces instead.

This recipe delivered on its promise. It was really easy. I used it to fill small chocolate desert cups for a Christmas party and it was a huge hit. (I used real whipped cream instead of the fake stuff because I love whipped cream) I can see what some reviewers are saying regarding the pudding taste but it didn't seem to detract from anyone enjoying it. I would definitely make it again.

This is very light and fluffy. Not as dense and rich as a true mousse would be. Super easy for instant gratification. And no problem using sugar-free and low-fat alternatives.

I made this recipe using sugar free pudding and sugar free whipped topping, you couldn't tell the difference!

Thanks for the easy recipe! I made a 4-layer double chocolate cake for mom's 60th bday and used this mousse for the filling. Then w/chocolate frosting w/extra chocolate chips in it, we were all on a sugar high after even a small piece! Wonderfully easy (and DELISH) recipe!

This recipe can even be made with sugar free pudding to cut down on sugar, which is great for diabetics. I love this recipe for ease and great chocolate taste.

While I am sure this did not taste exactly like "real" chocolate mousse, it was divine and I proudly seved it to guests last night for dinner. I added a little Bailey's and made a raspberry sauce to go with it. I served it in chilled wine glasses and it looked very impressive. Don't let the simple recipe for you, this doesn't have to be just for kids!

This is a great "emergency dessert". We had unexpected visitors drop by for supper and I just whipped this up. It was good in chocolate but it was to die for with butterscotch pudding.

The only change I made is that I used chocolate CoolWhip instead of regular. This was delicious and the whole family loved it especially when I added sliced bananas on top! It may not be real "mousse" but it's definitely geared for us busy folk who don't have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen. Thanks Luna!

It's definitely not chocolate mousse, but it was okay. I didn't like the little flecks of pudding mix that didn't blend.

Had thius years ago -so glad to find the prorportions again! Super easy and good for folks that can't go w/ traditional mousse due to the eggs. I usually add a shot of Kahlua in it as well.

So easy and light, especially when using the lighter options... light cool whip, nonfat milk and possibly sugar free/non fat pudding mix. (I haven't tried it yet but I will!!!) This is very good between thin layers of chocolate cake.

This was good, but it tasted too much like Jell-O brand pudding. I wouldn't recommend this mousse if you're wanting to impress. However, it is a good every day family dessert and is great with fruit!

I liked it alot. I was going to make actual mousse. It's not a 'gourmet' mousse, but it tastes fantastic. My husband was pleased. That's all that matters. :-) Thanks for the recipe!

Not a "gourmet" mousse, but was still fantastic. Incredibly easy to make. Also, very versatile. Try serving it with fresh fruit as a dip or in an edible chocolate bowl with some fresh raspberries.

Tastes OK for kids, but instant pudding and cool whip isn't a recipe. This isn't a mousse.

I needed a quick dessert and this one was perfect! I was feeding my two little grandchildren (3 & 6) and they thought this was a great treat. The mild chocolate flavor was good for the kids, if I was feeding this dessert to adults, I would modify it as some suggested to a stronger chocolate taste. Thanks for this simple to make, kid pleasing dessert.
