  1. Preheat the broiler.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix Colby cheese, mayonnaise, green onions and black olives.
  3. Spread cocktail rye bread slices with butter. Top with equal amounts of the Colby cheese mixture.
  4. Arrange cocktail rye slices in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Broil in the preheated oven 5 to 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and lightly browned.

maybe i did something wrong, but i did not care for these. the bread was soggy and i really didnt care for the taste.

These were very easy to make and a bit hit at our party! I made the mix the night before, assembled the bread with the mix on a tray and put in the fridge for a few hours - just threw them in the oven when the party started! Voila! I did add some chopped pepperoni and green pepper to the mix, per another recipe I had, so in essence, these were little pizza bites! I also skipped buttering the bread slices as it seemed unnecessary and it wasn't missed at all!
