I love the onions in this recipe but I cut the amount of salt way back.

This is only ok. My pork came outtough and it took a lot longer to cook the onions.

Changed a bit, used 1/2 envelope of onion soup mix and only 1/2 cup water. Used only half of the pepper and no salt. At the end thickened with a little flour. Very good

These were very good. I have to agree with many of the others here though, the onions were not truly carmelized. I coursely ground fresh pepper onto the chops and sprinkled on a fraction of the seasoned salt that the recipe called for rather than risking too much spice. I cooked them according to the directions for the first part but left the lid off after turning the chops. There is no way for the water to evaporate if the lid is on the pan. Next time, I will use, at most, 1/2 cup water. Regardless, simple and delicious. The chops are tender and flavorful.

These pork chops are surprisingly tender after cooking them in the skillet. After cooking them several times I find it's better to add less water, because it takes a long time to evaporate. Excellent with mashed potatoes!

I made the adjustments as suggested. I sprinkled on the seasoned salt and pepper and also some Mrs. Dash. I used 2 onions and sliced them on the thick side. I used 1/2 cup beef broth and they turned out great. I wouldn't call the onions caramelized but they were very tasty. I will make again with the new choices.

I made this with "meat marinade" and it turned out really good. Were a little dry, but oh so yummy! So many ways you can do a variation on this!

surprisingly flavorful. the water didn't evaporate, though, so the onions were just mush. good flavor, though.

For some reason I didn't read the comments beforing trying the recipe and this was terrible. Maybe with a lot less salt and pepper, it would be awesome.

Good. I used less seasoning salt. I couldn't get the water to evaporate so I drained it into a bowl and used wondra to make a gravy. Served over the chops & mashed potatoes.

The chops were flavorful and tender. I reduced the amount of pepper like some others recommended. The onions came out mushy, but still tasty. I think I will reduce the amount of water added to them next time. Had sauteed asparagus and a portabello mushroom risotto to go with it.

The onion topping came out very tasty, though they did not turn out the way I would expect carmelized onions to turn out. They were more like disintegrated onions. I also used two onions, and when I first put them in the pan, I thought it was way too much. But the onions shrunk (i.e. disintegrated) so much, there was hardly enough. But I thought it tasted good. I will try some of the other suggestions in the reviews and try again.

Great recipe - my only change I will make next time is to reduce the pepper - it was too spicy for me.

I added sliced portabello mushrooms and caramelized some halved brussel sprouts to add to the mix. Then sprinkled in a bit of dried thyme leaves before simmering. It's not a pretty dish but boy is it good! My boyfriend wants this one again this week! I served it up with a medly of wild rice.
