This recipe is excellent. I used the seasoned salt, white pepper, garlic powder, and paprika, and I left the pan uncovered at the end. My fiance said he was "very impressed" at how tender they were. I WILL DEFINITELY MAKE THIS AGAIN! :)

All in all, it was pretty good. I followed the recipe, and left the cover off like the previous reviewer suggested, but the pork chops themselves turned out a bit plain on their own. I felt that the amount of water required was a little excessive as it might have overcooked if I waited for all the water to boil away. Also substituted the water for half apple juice: it sweetened the onions a bit more, and thickened the sauce slightly.

rated 5 because you don't have anything higher. Great and easy only two changes made. changed water into white wine and add mushrooms last 5 min or so. Used cover with vent, done perfect after 20min.next time will add sliced apple on top of chops with onions

This is a good recipe, though I used garlic rather than onion. The water didn't evaporate at the end, so I just kept an eye on them to be sure when they were done.

We thought these were very tasty. I did add some extra herbs, and as others advised left the lid off for the final simmer. Very tender and easy to make. I will be making these again.

This was just "ok" for my family. I thought the pork chops were a bit bland. Good concept but just did cut it for us.

I added a few red pepper flakes and some ground ginger at the beginning too - I also sauteed the pork chops instead of veg oil...it was very good. Also - on the second simmer - you need to remove the lid otherwise the liquid will not cook off. Overall it was easy and good!

If you make the recipe as written, you will have to take the pork chops out to boil down the liquid and carmelize the onions. I did as others suggested and took the cover off for the final simmer, and my pork chops were pretty dry. I used Penzey's 4S seasoning salt and they were pretty tasty without any additional spices.

Followed some suggestions and used mushrooms and chicken broth and instead of water for more flavor. I also didn't let it completely evaporate so I could pour some over my rice. This was a good recipe but something was still missing.

These do taste good if you add your own little touch to them. You need to spice the porkchops accordingly or you will end up with a bland dinner. Use common sense and your own tastes for spicing...I like to rub my chops with plenty of salt, pepper, garlic and paprika. This recipe is pretty simple and quick. There is not much to it, if you like onions then you will like this recipe. I gave it 3 stars as it does taste delicious but, it is not a ground-breaking recipe.

It was okay. I think we can make a better pork dish than this with 40 minutes though. A tad bland.

WOW! This is a new staple in my cook book. I used bone-in pork chops & chicken broth instead of water. I took the chops out after the 20 min. simmer and added corn starch to the onions to thicken it up. It was absolutely delicious. Even my toddler and 5 year old ate every bite!
