I'm going to try this recipe based on the reviews without the cream of tartar. Also, I prefer a savoury bread, so I will add only 1/2 tsp sugar, and some garlic powder and chopped jalapeños. Lastly, I plan to add a big handful of parm or cheddar cheese, and reduce the fat to 1/4-1/3 c, and use oil instead of butter.

Super easy to make! Don't have time for rolled biscuits? Try these! They are very tasty.

Excellent and VERY easy recipe! I've used the "base" portion of the recipe with other additions (cinnamon & raisins, garlic & parmesan, etc.) and they've always turned out great.

These were so good! I used butter milk in place of milk, added cheese, fresh pressed to the melted butter garlic, fresh chopped parsley, and a small jar of pimentos. AMAZING! If you sprinkled with garlic salt as well, they would taste very similar to red lobster biscuits, but even better. I baked them in my cast iron skillet in the oven. I will be making these again.

Great for a very basic biscuit. I sifted the flour to make it more airy. My husband loved them, but we both agreed that the recipe may need a tad more salt. I think I will use 1/2 tsp next time instead of 1/4. I love that this is a no mess quick recipe that can be modified. I'm also going to try adding herbs and cheese the next time I make them so they aren't so bland. Thanks!

I'm not sure what went wrong but the biscuits spread out everywhere and the butter ran out onto the oven element and caught the oven on fire.
