"Similar to Julie Anne's Jet Swirl, I put a South Philly Cheese Steak twist inspired by our favorite football team. Variations can be made by substituting provolone for the American cheese."

DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. When hot, add onion, mushrooms and garlic. Cook and stir until tender, about 5 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza crust dough to a 12x9 inch rectangle. Cover with layers of vegetables, cheese and roast beef slices to within 1/2 inch of the edges. Starting at the longest side of the dough, roll across to the other side and pinch seam to seal. Place seam side down on a greased baking sheet. Whisk together the egg white and water with a fork and brush on top of the roll. Sprinkle Italian seasoning over the top of the roll.
Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown. Let cool slightly, then slice and serve.

This is like a cross between a calzone and a Philly cheese steak sandwich. As far as my family is concerned, it's the best of both worlds. I used steak-ums with this, added more seasonings and used provolone cheese. You Eagles fans are the most loyal I've ever seen in the country and I'm loyal in that I'll certainly be doing this recipe again. Thanks Airborne!

I thought this was great..first time I followed recipe exactly and I loved it. Second time, I decided to put an italian spin on it, I used ham, pepperoni, mozz cheese, bell pepper and a little pizza sauce. It was delicious and so good left over for lunches...we'll be doing a lot more experimenting with this recipe..thanks!

This was a very quick and easy supper. Nice blend of flavors, probably could have added some chopped green peppers in this. It even warmed up nice.

Awesome! The dough is soft. Make sure to put a lot of filling in, especially onions.

My husband and children really liked this sandwich and my 11 year old could make it by herself. Even my picky eaters ate it.

Excellent recipe and very versatile!! We made these like a Philly cheese steak sandwich and used cheese whiz rather than sliced cheese. Served with pizza sauce on the side. Also made with sliced ham (left over from a Honey Glazed Ham - recipe from this site), swiss cheese and honey mustard. Yummy!!
