Really tasty dumplings! My boyfriend raved about these! First time I ever made them and they came out light , fluffy and perfect. I halved the recipe, as I only wanted to make 3 - but ended up with 6 large dumplings! Not complaining though! I added som fresh chopped parsley and a little ground black pepper. Delicious!

Wonderful recipe!! I tried 2 others and they were bitter. I doubled this recipe per others suggestions and added it to a mock chicken soup. Turns out I didn't need to double the recipe. I'm hoping the left over dough will make more dumplings tomorrow because these were delicious!!! Light, fluffy and not bitter in the least! I added parsley and a little dill to the dry ingredients and they were perfect!

These were really easy to make and held up really well in the chicken stew that I added them to. I ommitted the sugar and was glad I did. It just isn't necessary in my opinion. Thanks they were great!

Fluffy, soft, biscuit-like dumplings. (I don't like the doughy, slimy kind, so these were great!) Cover and boil the full time and they are perfect, even in a thick stew.

Not sure I know what to expect from dumplings, but these weren't bad. Tried them with whole wheat flour, chives, parsley, and the smallest amount of ginger I could manage-- in the Slow Cooker Chicken & Dumplings recipe. Filling.

Outstanding! Absolutely outstanding! My darling hubby has been asking for chicken and dumplings for months. With the weather turning a bit cooler, I decided to give this recipe a try. I was not disappointed, and neither was he. These are absolutely delicious. I used butter rather than margarine and I used two tablespoons rather than one. These were light, fluffy and so tender. I followed the recipe and some of the suggestions by other reviewers. Mix only until incorporated, add to simmering (not boiling) liquid and put a lid on it! Leave the pot alone for the full 15 minutes. This is now our family dumpling recipe. Thank you Carol's Mom.

Hubby requested them to go in the beef stew and they turned out great...light and fluffy. Hubby was happy and I thought they were better than mom's. Only change I made was to add a touch more butter.

These were the best dumplings we have ever had!!! So wonderful and delicious! We followed the directions exactly, doubled it, and also used a couple of readers tips that really helped, like spray the spoon when putting them in the pan, and only mixing until ingredients are incorporated, and gently simmering. They were beautiful, didn't fall apart at all, fully cooked in the middle, and not chewy. Wonderful! Thanks for sharing the recipe!

My husband and I both think this recipe is fabulous. I made a few changes: for the liquid I used buttermilk and cream (three parts buttermilk - one part cream), I used butter instead of margarine, and to the dry ingredients I added not only the parsley but also black pepper. This will be my standard dumpling recipe now.
