Dressed-Up Broccoli
SUBMITTED BY:
Bryan Forster

"'In Clayton, Ontario, Bryan Forster needs only four ingredients to turn ordinary broccoli into a dressed-up side dish. The garlic in the broiled crumb topping really comes through."

This recipe is a keeper! I added 1 tablespoon of fresh grated lemon zest into the topping. I do wonder if the topping would be less dry if I used olive oil? Due to health reasons, we were forced to use light butter. Either way, this certainly is a tasty and quick way to "dress up" your basic broccoli.

This was ok. Nothing was wrong with it, but I like plain broccoli better. It was just broccoli with some crispy garlicy topping. Wait, as I type that, it sounds awesome again. I'm not sure why we didn't like this more. My husband suggested it needed more butter so it would stick better to the broccoli. It mostly just fell off. I was thinking it might be better to saute the garlic first so it's not such a sharp garlic taste. I don't know, the idea is good, but the execution just didn't turn out right for me. Thanks anyway!

This is my husband's new favorite broccoli side dish. I think it is very good too. Next time I will just add a pinch of salt & red pepper flakes for a little more flavor. Thanks!

I made this as a side dish for Christmas dinner and everyone loved it. The only change I made was to use a bit more butter. Great recipe!

I skipped the steaming and just tossed everything together and roasted in the oven at about 425 for a half hour or so. I used olive oil, not butter, and next time will add some lemon zest as other reviewers suggested. Very tasty!

Delicious! Also, an excellent way to get a 2 1/2-year-old to eat broccoli!

Yummy! I thought the bread crumbs were probably unneccesary. But, parmesan on broccoli was tasty. Also, steaming in the microwave worked perfectly. Quicker than my usual method in the steamer.

Fantastic! I added some lemon juice and a shtikl more butter. This would work on all kinds of veggies. I'll definitely make this again.

Delicious! I would just say, however, if you're not a garlic lover, maybe sauté the garlic first or use garlic powder instead.
