INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 (15 ounce) can peas, drained
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed vegetable beef soup, undiluted
  • salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add the potatoes, peas, soups, salt and pepper; mix well. Transfer to a greased 11-in. x 7-in. x 2-in. baking dish. Cover and bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour until potatoes are tender.

FOOTNOTE

  • Down-Home-Dinner can also be made in a slow cooker. Brown the beef and onion; drain. Combine with the remaining ingredients in a slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 4-6 hours (on low for 8-12 hours) or until potatoes are tender.
