This cake was okay, but I wouldn't say it was great...especially the next day. It seemed dry to me. My kids didn't like it at all, so I doubt I'll ever make it again. It was worth a try since it didn't require a lot of ingredients, and I had them all on hand.

We thought this was great! I don't know what that other reviewer was talking about, my batter came out beautiful & creamy, not dry at all. Instead of frosting, I spread a thin layer of peanut butter on the cake when it was warm, then put it in the refrigerator to solidify. Then I melted some milk chocolate with a few Reese's peanut butter cups thrown in and spread that over the top of the peanut butter layer. It was really good!

This is great! I did choose to use a different frosting than the one provided. I also used chunky peanut butter for the cake (what I had on hand) and replaced 1/2c flour with 1/2c oats. The texture was different but I found it to be a pleasing change. Mmm...

I needed something for dessert at the last minute and came upon this. The cake itself is a bit on the dry side and I'm not sure how to fix that - another egg maybe? Otherwise it was pretty good. I did motify the icing as I could see from the recipe 3 cups of confectioners sugar would be too much and would be way too sweet. I used 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter plus 2 Tbsp., 3 Tbsp. of butter, 2 c. confectioners sugar, 1/4 c. milk, and 1 & 1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract. The icing was very good and made more than enough for the cake.

I made this last week & it was awful! I had to keep adding milk in the hopes of it actually turning into a cake batter, instead of resembling crumbly cookie dough. It was virtually tasteless.

this pie is extremly tasty and simple. my only qualm was that the frosting was too sweet, and compared to the cake, rather complex .an alternate frosting is 1/2 cup of crunchy peasnut butter, 2 table spoons of chocolate syrup, 1/4 cup of powdered sugar, 3 table spoons of milk; mix and add powdered sugar until desired thickness is achieved

I was looking for something different to make my son and I found this recipe. It sounded delicious so I decided to try it. Let me tell you I was not disappointed at all! The cake turned out a little dense. I'm not sure if that is how it's supposed to be, but it actually made the cake better so I cannot complain. The flavors weren't too strong and since it was dense the texture was lovely. The icing was delicious as well and added that sweet touch that complimented the cake very nicely. The only thing I changed was I added spices to the cake batter. Other than that I made it as is and it was very good. Thank you for sharing this recipe, I will definitely make this again.

We love the Peanut butter II receipe but it uses a cake mix. It is our offical family birthday cake. I wanted something simular from scratch and found this. Easy to make and quick. I use my standing mixer to get air in the batter. kicthenaid spd 6 to combine and speed 4 to mix. For the frosting, I halved the other receipe. So i used 1/2 cup smooth pb, 3 Tablespoons butter, 2 cups powdered sugar and 1/8 to 1/4 cup milk or cream (add milk until you get the consistancy you want to frost with). This should give you enough to frost top and sides of one layer cake. Also, i sometimes sprinkle chocolate chips or shavings on top.

The cake was very simple to make and came out great, the frosting was way too sweet, may need to cut back on confectioners'sugar.
