I was not very fond of the flavor. I think it was the addition of vanilla extract. I also did not find it to be sweet enough. However, it was creamy, thick and SUPER chocolate!

This pie is way beyond good. You do need to be a real chocolate lover as it is so rich & extra chocolatey.

First bite and this pie is great, but after just a couple bites it is way to strong. I guess if you like super rich chocolate this might be good. I think I will stick to my old fashioned chocolate cream pie recipe.

As a true chocoholic, I found this pie to be quite tasty; however, my husband and mother thought it was a little too strong. I topped it with a meringue and used 2% milk, but I thought it set a little too soft. I don't know if anyone else had this problem, but I also noticed that the unsweetened chocolate took quite a while to melt. So long that I was afraid I would have little chocolate pieces in the pie even though I chopped it well. Despite this, I thought the taste was great, and I will probably make it again.

If you are looking for a super-chocolaty chocolate pie this is for you. This was the first pie i've ever made and it turned out great(except I didn't have whole milk, so mine was at first a little runny, but it thickened up nicely despite this).

I loved this pie. It was closer to a dark chocolate. We tried it in regular pie crust and again in a graham cracker crust. We preferred it with the graham cracker crust with homemade whipped topping.

I really liked this recipe. The filling set very well and tasted great. I shortened the steps by adding the egg yolks to the milk and whisking them together before adding them into the pot. This worked out fine seeing how I did this technique in a different custard pie. Just don't stop moving it around. Other than that I didn't change a thing and I received rave reviews!

I have made this recipe many times, and it always turns out great. I've made it in a pastry crust, a graham cracker crust, and just as pudding...they all turn out wonderfully. I get rave reviews everytime I make this pie for guests. It is my standby recipe.

This must be a DEEP DISH pie shell...or use 2 regular pie shells. I poured the excess filling into dessert cups, and used Meringue II from this site to top the pie. ONE cup of sugar was perfect, and made the perfect chocolatey richness. 5 stars if the sugar were reduced.

This pie tasted so amazing I will NEVER buy pudding mix again. I added it to an oreo crust YUM! Other reviewers were correct that this was more pudding than pie. But who cares about looks when it tastes as amazing as this did. Add to a bowl for awesome pudding or add to a shell if you don't care that it's puddingy.

A Pile of mushy GOO...I followed the recipe to the letter and had nothing firm come out of it, not even a descent pudding! Won't try this one again, it goes on the "F" list!

My pie set up really well. Some of the reviewers said their pie was sloppy but mine was very firm and did not fall apart upon cutting. The taste was not as good as I had expected. I could almost taste the unsweetened chocolate. Maybe it needed a bit more sugar. I don't know. I think I will look for another recipe when I make chocolate pie again.

Way to much chocolate. I could not even choke this pie down. I gave it away to my FIL and he enjoyed it, but he will eat anything sweet.
