Made these for my yellow lab's (Sadie) second birthday! I swear she knew these were for her as I was making them. She followed me to the kitchen to bake them and sat by the table waiting for them to cool! I, too substituted peanut butter for the cheese and she defintiely had a Happy Birthday! Will make these as gifts for Christmas for dog-friendly friends! Thanks for the recipe.

My dog loves em. This one was recommended to me by a friend, and she suggested omitting the cheese and bouillon and adding 1 cup peanut butter. Makes for a better dough too. :)

i just made this and the recipe was very easy to follow. since i didnt have cornmeal or shredded cheese on hand, i made a peanut butter version instead. i substituted the cornmeal with AP flour, margarine with veggie oil & butter and the cheese/boullion with unsalted smooth peanut butter. they baked up beautifully. my furbaby, charlie, loves them. thank you!

I am making this recipe for my dog right now for his birthday present. It was very quick and easy to make, and it called for everything I had in the pantry. I used all purpose flour instead of whole wheat and added a bit more and it was just the right consistency. I changed the size to 1 dozen and you don't need a lot of each ingredient then.Nothing more than 3/4 cup! So if you're short on ingredients, 1 dozen is just fine, I think. I used water when it was too thick and it was great. I can smell the treats baking right now...mmmm! Well, I hope my border collie/sheltie named Coal likes them!

Great Fun! Our dog loved these. I had a little mini tugboat shape (was for playdoh) and used it to cut small tugboats out for our tiny Japanese Chin. The dough was extremely easy to work with. I'll try the peanut butter next time and see how she responds. Thanks

My Dos love these treats! I feel like a slave to my dogs now. everytime I open the draw i keep them in the come running. I substituted peanutbutter fot the chesse and did not add the boullion. (my dogs love peanutbutter)Also I rolled my dough out to 1/4" thickness so they dry out more then they are crunchy. And the best thing is I know what my dogs are eating! And they are cheap!

These are easy and dogs love them. I make large bones and dip in puppy frosting and tie with a ribbon for friends large dogs birthday, or I made lots of little ones for another friends' small dog in a cute container. The best part, my dog gets the 'extras' and is in doggy heaven!

My Scottish Terrier loves these. I cut them out with a Scottie shaped cookie cutter. It seemed to take much longer to prepare but maybe because I used such a small cookie cutter.

Our dogs Charly (picky)and Heidi(glutton) both approve! Had to knead in 1/2 cup more flour so that the dough was less sticky. Used mini heart and star cookie cutters and they came out better looking than store-bought dog treats. Thank you Donna!

My dog loves his new treats - making 2nd batch today, will add a little peanut butter to see how that works out. When baking - make sure they are a good 1/2 in or more away from each other. Or you will be baking them longer.
