This is an old-fashioned, but easy-to-make devil's food cake recipe. Pound cake like texture and sinfully chocolately. This is from an old Philadelphia Bakery. Great when frosted with Chocolate Fudge Buttercream Frosting.

'I found this recipe hand-written on a piece of paper, tucked into an old recipe book I bought at a garage sale,' notes Jamie Regier of Omaha, Nebraska. 'It has since become one of my family's most-requested desserts.'

I like this cake because it's so moist and rich. It's great for large gatherings because it's so easy to make.

This is an old family recipe. The cake has a delicate chocolate flavor and the icing is hard to the touch, yet creamy when bitten into.

For the true chocolate lover, this cake is moist and dense and you are going to love it. Great with cream cheese frosting or cooked fudge frosting.
