These light cookies are crisp on the outside and soft inside, making it hard to eat just one! I most often bake them for Christmas and Valentine's Day.

With a fresh breeze, my longtime-favorite sugar cookie recipe got under way on a new track. I cut out sailboats and frisky fish, frosting them brightly for the nautical gathering. My guests ate their limit! -Martha Conaway, Pataskala, Ohio

This is one of my great-grandmother's recipes that I received years ago from one of my great-aunts. We bake these cookies for holidays and other special occasions. I have fun at Christmas cutting the cookies with holiday cookies cutters and decorating them with colored sugar and icing, then wrapping them in colored plastic wrap and giving them to friends.
