I made this two months ago and forgot to rate it. This soup was delish!! I did not have any celery, but had everything else. This soup is so good, that I plan on making it every time I have left over ham. Yummy!! Thanks for sharing.

Loved this simple soup recipe. I made a few changes due to what I had on hand. The basic soup recipe was awesome. I had no celery so I doubled the onion. I had no ham so I added on minced hot italian sausage which lead me to adding a chopped chipotle pepper. Topped with cheese and served. Soup was delicious as written and with my couple of changes.

This is a great recipe! I used a full onion, 3 stocks of celery, a large clove of garlic, no salt, plus basil and fresh rosemary. Wonderful!!! Yummmmm!

This is a great recipe! I have made it with ham and one time with BACON!!! THe version with bacon is a fav with my kids...no adjustments needed. If you are using bacon though I would not add additional salt as it's not needed. Make sure the bacon is cooked ahead of time and crumbled. I cut it before I cook it and saute in a pan.

Not nearly as good as I had hoped (compared, for example, to the Italian Sausage soup, which is amazing). Made according to directions with good quality ingredients it is mediocre all the way - that is, better than canned, but not as good as I would expect from homemade soup.

This soup was really good. I omitted the ham entirely because we don't like it. I added a big handful of cheddar cheese to the soup at the end and stirred it in to give a nice depth of flavor. Will make again for sure!
