Used 5# bag of red potatoes (skin on) and added about 1.5 more cups of Boars Head ham and 3 tbs of cooked bacon. After combining all the ingredients, mixed all of it in a food processor and then tossed in crock pot for four hours on low. In all, I used about 2 tbs of white pepper, 1 tsp of poultry seasoning, red pepper, and Old Bay. Topped with sharp cheddar about 5 minutes before serving and was a huge hit.

Excellent soup. I used half red potatoes and half Yukon Gold. Did not peel. Also added some carrots and some frozen corn because I happened to have some and it seemed like the thing to do. It would have been very good without these additions though. Highly recommend.

Quite possibly the best soup I've ever made! I used turkey ham and chicken broth (no msg like bullion) as a healthier option. I also used celery seed in place of the celery and added some cabbage towards the end of cooking. I only wish I had known how good this would turn out so I could have made more for leftovers. Thanks!

I just made this soup. I really love the thickening part. My family loved it! The thing I did differently before I found this recipe on-line was I sauteed the cubed potatoes in olive oil for a few minutes then also sauteed the celery and onions and then added chicken broth, added bay leaves, thyme, and fresh parsley and a shake of crushed red pepper. Yum!

Perfect! We added carrots, but other than that stuck to the recipe. You have to try it!

This was very good. I doubled the recipe to freeze the leftovers. The only thing I will do differently is to add more ham there just wasnt enough ham for us. Very good, will make again.

This soup is fantastic!! I cooked this for 20 guys last night, and got rave reviews from everyone. Actually, I fixed enough for 40 people. The guys went back for 2, 3, & even 4 re-fills! Next time I fix this, I think I'm going to add peppers, or carrots, or cheese. Or, I might not change it at all!

A very good recipe, but it turned out a bit salty for my taste. Might try just using the chicken bullion next time and forget the extra salt.

I went into this recipe thinking it was going to be so-so. I was so wrong. It was fantastic. Amazing. Remind me next time to double, triple maybe even quadruple it. This is going to be my new go-to soup.

This is a very good recipe I made it exactly as it said just made it easier. Instead of cutting up potatos i used the pre cubed potatos from the frezzer section and instead of diceing up onionI used dried minced onions and for my final simplification I used lunch meat ham cut up. It turned out wounderful even my 2 kids enjoyed it. This is for sure my go to potato soup recipe

Whole family loved this. Only changes I made was to use turkey ham and a little less salt. I would recommend NOT using bacon or adding scallions. The flavor of this soup is so delicious as is, why change it to something else.

Tried this unbelievably delicious recipe with a few changes. I used red potatoes and rather than adding any salt, I substituted for 1/4 c. of parmasan cheese!!! Incredible! Will for sure make it again! Maybe this weekend!
