This soup is delicious!! I didn't have any ham so I used some breakfast sausage that I had in the fridge.

This is an absolute favorite at our house now! I just have to make sure and double the recipe- everyone wanted seconds! Quick tip: if you don't want to take the time to peel and chop the potatoes, use shredded hashbrowns.

Just as the name says, this soup is delicious! It is exactly what I've been looking for. I did leave out the ham and I'll tell you why. My brother asked for a potato soup, he takes a ham and cheese sandwich to work everyday (I don't know how) So I figured he didn't need any more ham. LOL. I forgot to buy celery so I used the celery salt like another reviewer, and it worked fine. I did add about a half of cup of sliced carrots, thought it needed something else since I forgot the celery. Will be making this again!

This is a delicious soup, and I don't really even like potato soup (neither does my husband, but that didn't stop him from eating 2 bowls!). Other than omitting the celery, I usually make the recipe exactly as written (I do not use any salt because I find that the bouillon makes it salty enough). The last time I made it I added a can of corn niblets and it was superb as well. My husband also likes to sprinkle shredded cheese on top of his. I made this a few months ago for my husband to take to a soup luncheon at work and I had to send the recipe to several of his co-workers who declared it the best potato soup they had ever eaten. He's having a Christmas luncheon this Friday and his co-workers have already requested that he bring this soup again. I make it in a stockpot and then pour into a crockpot to keep warm. If you do this, make sure to stir it well before serving, as it tends to develop a film on top if it sits for awhile. I will never try another potato soup recipe -- I've found a keeper with this one. P.S. - this is a great way to use up leftover ham over the holidays.

This is the BEST potato soup I have ever made. It is thick and creamy and is very hearty. It was not difficult to make and it is a winner!!! I did not change anything about the soup.

Made this a few times now and it is amazing. My kids hate soup yet this disappears every time I make it. Thanks Ellie!

I've made this recipe a couple of times now. It is so simple, yet very tasty. My family has been happy with it everytime. It is gobbled down with very little leftovers. We top ours with shredded cheese just before serving.

My sister and I really liked it, it was extremely filling! It was a little too "chickeny" so I think I will do about half the granules next time and will add some bacon for flavor. I skipped the celery because I didn't want to buy a whole bundle (the rest would go to waste). I added several carrots instead which gave it nice color and flavor. It also needed more spice so I dumped in some chives and garlic salt. It's a good starting base recipe that you can add to.

I made this with my left-over ham from Thanksgiving. I have to admit that I have never made soup before. This was fantastic and really easy to make. Even my husband loved it and left-overs were great! Not a bite went to waste.

Simply delicious! Prepared recipe just as it is, but found that I didn't need to add salt. The chicken bouillon was plenty. So so good. If potatoes weren't so carb heavy I'd probably have it every week. Actually will probably make it every week since it's all ingredients I stock in my pantry anyway.

This is a great recipe! I didn't measure much - I used a bag of potatoes, a few stalks of celery, a cut-up ham steak, and some onion and boiled that in chicken broth rather than the water + bouillon, and didn't need any salt or pepper. I added about 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese to the white sauce and a bunch of cooked broccoli to the veggies and ham. I also sprinkled cheese on top to assist the picky-soup eaters in the family, who did enjoy it, even the 2 year old with her "Mash T'atoe Soup." :) Thanks so much! We'll definitely make this again!!

This is one good recipe! I omitted the celery, 'cause I'm not a fan and added a few diced carrot chips. I also omiited the salt, it didn't need any extra. Otherwise, I followed the recipe. I will definitely make this again, I was very pleased with the turn out! This is MM MM Good!!!!

Super yummy! :-) My suggestions: decrease pepper to 1/4 teaspoon, decrease butter to 4 tablespoons, no salt & add a carrot.

My hubby and I just loved this soup! I was upset that I didn't double the recipe. It is now a favourite! The only thing I did different was added some shredded cabbage. My hubby had no clue it was in the soup....hehehe

So tasty! We will definitely be making this again. The only difference is we'll use the right ham next time! We boiled our Thanksgiving ham core and used the ham from that. It was stringy but still tasted yummy. I bet its even better with cubed ham! Wonderful recipe.

This is the potato soup recipe that makes all others obsolete! My hubby absolutely loves it! I double the recipe tonight to serve at church tomorrow! The only thing that I do differently is add more potatoes!
