My Mother taught me the secret to great egg salad is to mix the cold mayo with the still hot yolks. This makes a much creamier base to add the rest of the ingredients to.

I have used many recipes from this site and loved most of them. This was just a basic recipe, nothing spectacular about it. Egg salad is basically simple to make. I did try this recipe and added a stalk of chopped celery and cut down on the mayo. It was good, but again nothing spectacular. Therefore, I gave it a 3 since I did have to modify it.

This was exactly what I was looking for. Very basic but very good. Celery would be a nice addition however since I didn't have any on hand, I sprinkled in some celery seed for the flavor. Very good, Thank You!

I love this egg salad recipe. It is wonderfully creamy. I used Miracle Whip in mine, just a personal preference. Also, do not skip using the green onions. They are awesome in this!

(much better than PB&J)

Not bad. A little too much mayo for our liking, so we'll cut it back in the future. My mom's recipe back in the day used regular onion and she always added pickles, which we all loved. Easy to change to your liking.

Really good. I only used 1 egg yoke for every 6 eggs to cut down on the fat content. Adding celery would probably be a good addition. Got runny after a day.

I use this recipe all the time and make sandwiches with the "Italian Bread Using a Bread Machine" recipe from this site. This doesn't need much salt but I do add plenty of black pepper. If I have red peppers or celery I throw those in too. Make sure to check out the "Divine Hard-Boiled Eggs" recipe on this site for instructions on the cold-water start method for hard-boiling the eggs.

Very good egg salad. I like to try the orginal recipes first before making any changes and the only change I made was adding celery for a little crunch.

Great recipe! A good basic for then adding whatever you like to taste. I added dill and loved this sandwich. The mayo to mustard ratio is perfect. Thanks!
