This was an okay dessert.. really the only way i could get it down was by eating it with vanilla ice cream on top. The flavor just wasn't very good.

Needed to use up some plums I froze last fall so thought I'd try this. This was very good-just not over-the-top. I doubled the filling amount, but only used 1 cup total sugar after reading reviews. I also added 1/4 cup flour too just incase the plums were as juicy as I thought- the filling was still pretty soupy. Love the addition of the almond extract-the pie tasted like cherry!! We enjoyed this with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Very Good. I used half the amount of sugar and added about a tablespoon of lemon juice.

A friend from church gave me a huge pan of plums, so I went searching for a recipe to make for our weekly church potluck for the next weekend. Because I had read the reviews here and knew my friend's fresh plums were super sweet, I reduced the sugar to less than one cup. Made that way, the cobbler was a hit, and everyone loved it. I've even had 4 people ask me for the recipe! I'm adding this one to my recipe files.

This was about 10 times sweeter than I wanted it to be. I wouldn't suggest using Sweet Italian Prune Plums if you are going to make this! I was embarrassed since I took it to a potluck! Serves me right for making something that hadn't been reviewed. I might try the same recipe with peaches that aren't quite so sweet. Our plums are just so sweet that the added sugar made it WAY too much!

A friend first made this and it was so good, I asked her to send me home with a bag of plums from her plum tree and email me the recipe. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 b/c my cobbler turned out very soupy due to the juiciness of my plums. Perhaps taking a paper towel to soak up a little of the juice before going on with the recipe might help or even adding more tapioca...even so, whether on a plate or in a bowl, with a little Cool Whip, this is a great end of the summer dessert!
