Excellent! I doubled the recipe and baked in a 9x13. Took a little longer to bake. I did do as others suggested and added more cocoa & less baking powder. Also used 1/2 Smart Balance & 1/2 butter. One of the best made from scratch brownies I've ever had.

Wonderful recipe! I'm so glad I made this...I added 1/2 cp semi-sweet chocolate morsels and 1/2 cp walnuts as other readers suggested, and really is the best brownie recipe I've ever made! Thanks so much for posting! :)

Awesome, wonderful, and delicious! I did take a couple people's advice and only added 2 eggs since and they turned out perfect consistency. I used 1/4 tsp. baking powder so it would rise slightly and but not be too cakey. I also added about 1/4 cup chocolate chips, and used 3/4 c. cocoa because I tasted the batter and wanted it a little more chocolaty. I finally have that perfect recipe with the couple changes I made. I'm sure they would be amazing without my changes too. I almost always tweak a recipe for my tastes, and this recipe was completely forgiving and let me change it with no problems! I think I'm going to go have another one now :)

I LOVED this recipe. I didn't put in the baking powder and I put in 2 eggs instead of 3. I added one cup of chocolate chips. This recipe was a big hit!

This is a great recipe - I used 2 eggs and left out the baking powder and they turned out nice and squidgy in the middle. I also added chocolate chips. Very quick and easy recipe - my boyfriend loves these!

Made this on a whim over the weekend and will be making them again for sure. I used the chocolate cookie buttercream frosting recipe to top them off.

The perfect chewy and fudgy brownie. Just right warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. I omitted the baking powder and one egg and sprinkled a few chocolate chips on top. I lined the pan with foil and greased with butter before baking. After letting the brownies cool, I just lifted them out with the foil and used a big knife to cut into 12 small squares because these are so rich. No mess!

not bad...i also omitted the baking pwdr and only used 2 eggs. i will stress to not eat them right after they get out of the oven...i like warm, fresh brownies right from the oven, so if you're tempted DON'T do it! the longer you wait, the better they firm up and taste!!!

outstanding! these will satisfy any chocolate lover, or PMS crazed woman. A very easy brownie to make, too. Watch your oven temp/time. ovens vary so if it takes less or more time than stated, watch carefully. I have also turned these into turtle brownies by adding chopped pecans and drizzling with caramel ice cream topping on top. this is the best brownie recipe I've found to date. I'm sure it'll go in my permanent recipe box on the counter.

This is the 3rd brownie recipe I've tried from this sight. The first, not enough chocolate, the second too much sugar. This one is close to perfect! These brownies melt in your mouth. I did leave out an egg, just so they wouldn't be too "cakey." YUM

Based off of the suggestion of others, I omitted the baking powder and used one less egg... Made them this evening for my husband who loves brownies. I can never make his mom's recipe right and I think I outdid even her. THIS WAS WONDERFUL!!! My husband had nearly half the pan that is how good they were. They were fudgy and chocolaty.... Everything a brownie should be. Five stars for sure!!!!

These were very good out of the oven but hardened up pretty quickly. Next time I'll try Smart Balance instead of butter.

Unanimously voted best brownies ever. Used only two eggs, omitted the baking powder and added a generous handful of special dark chocolate chips. SOOOO Good!

Hmmm! Death by chocolate when I added Guittard chocolate chips to mix. I followed other reviewer's suggestions for a thick, fudgy brownie. When they were still warm, I wasn't too sure that this was the right recipe for us, but once the brownies were completely cool, wow!

Wow, I'm impressed! I chose the "deep dish" brownies because I don't have an 8"X 8" pan and had to use an 8"X 11" dish. I was skeptical about not using baking powder (who's ever heard of such a thing?!), but I did what everyone else suggested and used one stick of butter and no baking powder. They were awesome! They have the perfect chewy edges and super soft center. I think next time I will add some frozen dark sweet cherries. ;)

Very tasty brownies! I also followed other reviewers and made some changes to the recipe. I only used 2 eggs and halved the sugar to 3/4 cup. I also omitted the baking powder and reduced the butter to 1/2 cup. I used a fan oven, so I reduced the heat to 165 degrees and baked the brownies for 35 minutes. Still, the brownies were really nice. Definitely use this recipe again!!
