I added chocolate chips to the batter. These are by far the best homemade brownies I've ever had. They're not cakey at all and have that from-the-box flaky stuff on top.

Maybe I did a wrong combo: I added in the baking powder but I used only 2 eggs, as suggested for fudgier brownies. They were a yummy fudgy in the middle of the dish, but a weird dry & spongy border. They tasted good, though!

Beats boxed mix any day! I followed the 2 egg, no baking powder suggestion and they were so fudgy and delicious! I think they may be even better with a really good quality vanilla.

This is my first attempt to make brownies from scratch and I thought this recipe was easy and delicious! I doubled the recipe and baked in a 9"x13" pan. As per other reviewers for making these brownies more "fudg-y", I used less eggs and added a little extra cocoa.

These were good, but not really deep dish. I did as others suggested an omitted one egg and didn't use baking powder. Before putting the brownies into the oven, I cut some Hershey's Kisses in half and pressed them into the batter. This added some great chocolatey-ness to them. While I LOVE fudgy and chewy browines (and these are) - I was hoping they would be a bit thicker. Next time, I think I'll add a but of baking powder, maybe 1/4 tsp. and still uses just 2 eggs.

I started out this recipe by doubling it for a 13x9 pan. I got the butter melted and added the sugar. Went to add the eggs and realized I was 1 short (4 instead of 5) so I tossed in a Tbls. and a half of mayo. Got it all mixed up (hint for people who don't want "cakey" brownies...mix by hand with a spoon until JUST combined...if you overmix, you get cakey, not fudgy). Started putting in pan and realized that I forgot to add the chocolate chips *sighs*...so I put half the batter in the pan, tossed about 2 cups of chocolate chips on top of batter and then, topped with the rest of the batter. I baked at 350 for 35 minutes (probably could have done 30). These turned out GREAT!! The only home-made recipe that I've ever found that I liked.

I also used the recommendations of 2 eggs, omitting baking powder, and adding choc chips. These are VERY GOOD and rich. However, if for some reason they last more then 2 days or so, they tend to dry up and become crumbly. So best eaten right away, which I'm sure won't be a problem!!!

Wow! These were so decadent. I followed the recommendations of using only 2 eggs and 1/4 tsp of baking powder. I also added a little over a cup of c chips to the batter. Once out of the oven, I added a few more c chips and it was oh so good! Next time I might try using a touch less sugar. great recipe though.

Doubled recipe and cooked in a 9 x 13 glass dish for 38 minutes at 350. Used 5 eggs instead of 6, otherwise made exactly as written. They were fudgy and delicious.

I don't like cakey brownies. I wanted a recipe for brownies that taste soft and dense and fudgey. This is the ONE if you like brownies like I just described! I left out 1 egg, and didn't put any baking powder in. Turned out just right!!! YUM! Will never use boxed again!

These are the best! I made a batch and took them to work, my edges were a tad overdone but the rest was wonderful. I just cut off the edges and I made 16 brownies out of it. They were so rich and fudgy I don't think I could have made them bigger. The first words I heard were "Oh my god," and "This is better than ***." LOL, they went over perfectly and everyone wanted the recipe. Thanks Biz!!! Also, I did take other reviewers' suggestions by using 2 eggs and 1/4 tsp of baking powder. All else was exactly the same.

I am so often disappointed when I make brownies from scratch. I usually end up liking the box kind better. But not with this recipe! This is delicious! I also preferred it over the 'Best Brownies' recipe from this site. More chocolatey! I recently made this recipe into mini cupcakes and added 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips. It yielded about 30. I baked them at 350 degrees for 12-13 minutes. Looks just like the brownie bites you can get from the supermarket!

These were really great. Per other reviewer's suggestions, I only used two eggs and halved the baking powder and added maybe a cup of chocolate chips. I also used a cream cheese and egg combination to swirl over the top to make them marbled cream cheese brownies. These were probably the best brownies I ever tasted!

Motivated by all the great reviews, I tried this tonight only to be disappointed. Followed the recommendations to use 2 eggs and omit the baking powder, they wound up turning out like a dry cake. I even reduced baking time to 30 minutes, hoping for some chocolatey gooeyness. Oh well. Thanks for letting me try!
