I made a pan for some b-days at work and ended up eating about half of it myself afterwards (I'm five months pregnant, so I have a good excuse!!!) - yum! I did cut down the eggs to 2 rather than 3, doubled the recipe for a whole 9x13 pan and increased the cocoa powder. I also topped with cream cheese frosting (turned in chocolate though) from this site -- these were wonderful and I wish I still had some. They are soft and not at all cakey, but not super gooey like they've been undercooked or anything. I can't wait for an excuse to make them again!

I changed this recipe A LOT - but since it's where I started I wanted to at least give credit where credit is due. I have made them twice this week for different groups of people and they have been a HUGE success. My changes: slightly less butter, 1/2 white sugar 1/2 brown sugar, only 2 eggs, no baking soda, 1tsp instant coffee crystals, 1cp semisweet chocolate chips, 1/2 c chopped walnuts. Like I said - I modified sooooo much. And then I made a cream cheese and raspberry jam frosting with a chocolate glaze. Really, really, really tasty. Not quite fudge, not quite cake - chewy, moist, and a great blend with the frosting.

I made the suggested version (minus one egg and the baking powder) and they were incredible. My roommate called them "life changing." Yes, they were that good.

These were very fudgy and pretty good...I listened to other reviews and omitted the baking powder, only used two eggs and added a cup of mini chocolate chips, although if I made them again, I think I would try following the recipe as is. I like them almost underdone and I think I left these in too long, but that's my fault! This is a good recipe.

This brownies are delicious! I'm giving it four stars because I followed the advice of the others who tweaked the recipe a bit. I didn't stay true to the recipe, so I can't give it a perfect five stars. Anyway, these are definitely the best homemade brownies I've tried. They made the entire house smell like chocolate. It was incredible. I sprinkled some chocolate chips, as well, and it just perfected it. I also used the Cream Cheese frosting II recipe on here. It wasn't too sweet and was the perfect compliment.

This is a great recipe! The first time I tried it I took the advice of some reviewers and exclude the baking powder & use only 2 eggs. They turned out out great but today, I follow the original recipe and they turned out better. So follow the original recipe. I love these brownies!

I changed the cocoa powder to 2/3 cup, used 2 eggs, and omitted the baking powder. With those changes, this recipe is FANTASTIC. Perfect chocolate brownies, and for a different taste, change the type of extract you use (try mint or orange instead of vanilla, for example). This is now my standard brownie recipe!

5 stars if you alter the recipe to 2 eggs and no baking powder. I tried using 3 small eggs and adding some coarse graham crumbs and it turned out great!

I really like this recipe. Very easy to make..I was actually looking for a Blondie and could not find one I liked..But I remembered how much I like this one, I converted this recipe into what I like to call a deep dish blondie. I took out the coco and replaced it with flour. Added some nuts and white choc chips and surprise..blondies..They were moist and delicious. Same cook time. Depending on the size of the pan..If you decide to do this your pan needs to larger than 8x8 so the edges won't burn. Overall I like this recipe as a brownie and a Blondie.

My husband begs for these brownies. They are a little cakey for my tastes, but I love the crispy edges they have right when they come out of the oven.

Made these several times-- each time there was a slightly burnt taste to the brownies, even though they were not overcooked. Not exactly what I was looking for... Teenaged son still asks for them regularly...

I, too, used only 2 eggs and omitted the baking podwer as suggested before. Great texture. Good fudgey taste. My only criticism is that it is a bit too sweet.

These are the from scratch brownies that I have been looking for! They're fudgy and chewy, and the taste is phenomenal. I made them yesterday, and between my Dad, my youngest brother and myself, there are only 6 left! I did up the cocoa powder to 3/4 a cup because I like super chocolaty brownies, but that's the only thing that I changed. I plan on making a double batch later this week, so I can send some to my husband in Iraq.

These were very good. I omitted the baking powder also and left out an egg. I also used half white sugar and half brown sugar. These are quite chewy and have a good fudgy flavor. I iced these brownies with the Peanut butter fudge frosting also found on this site and I thought they were excellent together! :)

Thank you so much for this recipe. So far, this is the best brownies recipe I have ever attempted. I used only 2 eggs and omitted the baking powder to get chewy brownies, as other reviewers suggested. So scrumptious!
